The phone/tablet overheats when watching videos or live streams

    Issue description:

The phone/tablet overheats when watching videos or live streams.

    Cause:

When you watch live streams or videos, the screen remains on while the CPU and GPU work continuously. This increases power consumption and your phone/tablet heats up, especially when mobile data is in use.

    Solution:

    1. It is recommended to enable automatic brightness adjustment to reduce screen power consumption and heat generation.
    2. It is recommended to appropriately lower the media volume in speaker mode to avoid excessive power consumption and overheating caused by prolonged high-volume playback.
    3. It is recommended to disable the On-screen comments function to reduce screen power consumption and heat generation.
    4. It is recommended to watch videos or live streams on a stable network. Your phone's/tablet's antenna and other hardware are put under a heavy load when you're watching videos online or live streaming, especially when the signal is unstable. This is because your phone/tablet increases signal reception and transmission power automatically, resulting in power consumption increasing and heat being generated.
    5. It is recommended to adjust the video resolution appropriately. Higher video resolution consumes power faster due to factors such as video decoding. You can lower the video resolution to minimize power consumption and heat generation.
    6. It is recommended to not use your phone/tablet to watch videos while charging. The device generates heat during charging, and video playback also causes heating. Simultaneous charging and video playback may result in more severe overheating.
    7. It is recommended to promptly close background apps to reduce power consumption and heat generation.
    8. It is recommended to disable some video effect enhancement features, such as Defocus Eyecare, Vivid Display, Super Dynamic Display, and more. You can use the Battery optimization feature (go to Settings > Battery > Battery optimization) to disable all these features or separately disable them by going to the following paths:

Defocus Eyecare: Settings > Honor Eye Comfort Display > Defocus Eyecare

Vivid Display: Settings > Display & brightness > Video enhancer > Vivid Display

Super Dynamic Display: Settings > Display & brightness > Video enhancer > Super Dynamic Display
