Use Phone Clone App to Transfer Easily

If you want to use this method, 3 requirements below should be satisfied:

Both your devices are HONOR phones.
Two devices are EMUI 8.0 and above.
Phone Clone App is version 10.0.1.550 and above

Use a Zip File to Transfer

Step 1 Back up the previous device’s WhatsApp history data to Internal storage

Move the backup from ** to Internal storage by these steps:

WhatsApp – –Settings – Chats – Chat Backup – Back up to ** “Never” – .

Generate a zip file of WhatsApp chat history in the previous device

Step 2 In your previous device,

please go to Files – Categories – Internal storage– WhatsApp – Hold on to Databases button for 3 seconds – choose Media– click More – Compress to the Current directory.

They will be compressed as WhatsApp.zip.

Step 3 On new HONOR device, enable storage permission for WhatsApp

Go to Settings– Apps – Apps – WhatsApp – Permissions – Storage– Allow.

Note: You also need to allow the other permissions after successfully log in WhatsApp in your new HONOR device in order to make WhatsApp call, share location and so on.

Step 4 Transfer the compressed file from the previous device to the new HONOR device via Huawei Share

In your new HONOR device, swipe down from the notification bar then Click Huawei Share icon and Enable the function for next transferring steps.

Step 5 Share the Compressed WhatsApp file in the previous device to the new HONOR device

In your previous device, please go to File – Categories – Archives – hold on to WhatsApp.zip for 3 seconds – Share – Huawei Share– choose your new HONOR device in detected device list.

In your new HONOR device, you will receive a notice for whether you agree to receive the file via Huawei Share. Please choose ACCEPT to successfully receive the shared WhatsApp file. Then Touch the popped up File received notice and you will see the WhatsApp.zip has already been transferred to your new HONOR device

Step 6 Move the WhatsApp.zip to the Internal storage folder in the new HONOR device.

In your new HONOR device, hold on to WhatsApp.zip – Move– Internal storage – Move.

Step 7 Extract the moved WhatsApp.zip in new HONOR device

In your new HONOR device, hold on to WhatsApp.zip – More– Extract to – Current directory.

Step 8 Delete all files except “msgstore.db.crypt12”inDatabases. Do not open Media files.

In your new HONOR device, please go to WhatsApp in Internal storage – Databases– hold on to all files to be deleted – click Delete – choose Delete in the popped up message if you have chosen correctly.

Step 9 Log in WhatsApp on new HONOR device

In your new HONOR device, please click WhatsApp – AGREE AND CONTINUE – enter your account phone number – type verification code – click RESTORE if you want to restore the detected history chat. After a few minutes the process will finish and you can click NEXT to key in your name and see the chat history restored in your new HONOR device.
