Blood oxygen levels have come into the spotlight this year because health practitioners are using that metric to check for and monitor COVID-19 cases. But blood oxygen, or SpO2, levels have been used long before COVID-19 as an important indicator for your heart, lung and overall health.
Simply put, your blood oxygen level (or SpO2 level) is the amount of oxygen in your blood. This health metric, which is often called the fifth vital sign, is important to monitor in people who have respiratory conditions, COVID-19 included.
Traditionally, to measure SpO2 you need a pulse oximeter (a device that clips on your finger). But with all the HONOR Watches and the newly launched HONOR * ES, you can now monitor blood oxygen within seconds.
Keep reading to learn more about how blood oxygen levels work in HONOR watches.
WHAT US SpO2 LEVEL?
Blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) is the percentage of haemoglobin in the blood that contains oxygen. In other words, the amount of oxygen in blood. It is useful natural indicator of the condition of the person's respiratory system. If your SpO2 is below 90, you may be risk at developing hypoxemia.
It means the lower the SpO2 level, the higher the risk.
Here are the simple steps which you can follow to enable SpO2 monitoring.
1. Donwload the HUAWEI HEALTH APP from APP GALLERY.
