Hey folks, I hope you all are fine and safe.
As we all know that Honor 9A comes with an HMS service and not with GMS and you will be wondering how I can restore chats of WhatsApp in Honor 9A since you don't have access to Google service and chat backups only on your Gmail id but don't worry today I will teach you a technique in which you can restore your WhatsApp messages easily. Before starting please read all the instructions carefully, if one step is missed you all are gonna have to start again. Also, I will use my Honor 10 Lite for reference. So, let's get started.
First things first download WhatsApp application from the Petal Search and install it on your Honor 9A. Go to the settings of Honor 9A click on apps and locate to WhatsApp, there you have to enable all the permissions manually. Open the application and immediately close the app from the background without doing anything, the reason for this that it will create a folder on the device which comes in handy later.
Step 1. Open your old phone WhatsApp setting > Chats > Chat Backup. Then select "Never" under Back Up to **
Step 2. Open your File Manager on the old phone and go to the very bottom and open the WhatsApp folder.
Step 3. Select the Database and Media folder. Tap on more option and compress it, it'll create a WhatsApp zip file.
Now our work for the old phone has been completed and we will move to our new device i.e., Honor 9A. Remember the zip file that you have created on the old phone well transfer that zip file to Honor 9A. Now follow the steps below.
Step 1. Open file manager, go to the very bottom, and locate the WhatsApp folder. Then click on it you'll see only media folder, Go ahead and delete that file but keep the WhatsApp folder on the file manager.
Step 2. Then locate the folder where you have transferred the file. Mine is Xender so I go to the Xender folder and extract the zip file there. It'll appear as the WhatsApp folder. Click on it and you'll see the Database and Media folder
Step 3. Long press on the Media and Database folder to select it and move both the folder to the WhatsApp folder.
Step 4. Open WhatsApp application click on Agree and Continue, fill up your mobile number and verify with the OTP. After verifying successfully you'll see an option to restore your messages. Click on the restore button and voila you have done the process. The restoration process will take time depending upon your backup data.
