Hi!
Have you ever had your smartphone refusing to boot properly, crashing into a bootloop, or crashing errors? Have you said goodbye to your smartphone and sent it to the service center?
If so, this short guide is for you.
Huawei and Honor took care of their smartphones with a special mode called eRecovery which allows you to download the firmware from the Internet to your smartphone and restore it without using a computer.
This mode is especially useful if we do not have access to the computer and we cannot restore the software via HiSuite.
Note: Everything that I described is at your own risk! Remember to make a backup!
So here we go!
1. Turn off your smartphone
2. Press the volume + button and connect the charger, hold it until the Huawei / Honor logo appears, do not disconnect it.
3. Depending on the version of the system, you will immediately see eRecovery (Android 9 and below) or, as in my case, in the screenshot below
4. Click on update Mode
5. We choose eRecovery mode
6. We choose Update and recovery system
7. Select Download update and recover
8. Wi-Fi starts up and searches for available networks
9. Choose your network and enter the password
10. The smartphone connects to our Wi-Fi network
11. After connecting, it searches for the latest software version and downloads it
At this point, I recommend making yourself a cup of coffee or tea because the whole process will take a while ?
12. After downloading, the download integrity and correctness are checked
13. If everything went well in point 12, the software is installed
Important do not interrupt this process!
14. After a successful installation, there will be two buttons Restart and Power OFF. You can press restart or wait
15. If everything went well, we can enjoy the restored software and a working smartphone
