HONOR TechChic - Where style meets technology
From the very start, HONOR has believed in the amalgamation of style and technology - they call this ‘TechChic’. It is this synergy that defines their brand philosophy. Hence, each of their models look trendy, and score high on technological innovation. The HONOR TechChic trend is all about breaking the mould and embracing the youthful spirit of freedom!
Cutting-edge technology has always been at the heart of HONOR smartphones, and they have pioneered some of the biggest innovations in the world of gadgets. Whether it was the introduction of the punch-hole display to the world’s first 7nm chipset in devices like HONOR 10 Lite and HONOR View20, HONOR has always been at the forefront.
HONOR is currently teasing the launch of its new 10X smartphone, which means we can expect it to hit the market very shortly. But even as we await its arrival, it would be a good idea to take a look back at the HONOR X series and how it became a tour de force in just half a decade.
The story actually started with the HONOR 4X, the first X series smartphone to enter India, in 2015, and shook up the market with its complete value-for-money nature and great design. The subsequent years saw several new X series devices breaking sales records in the country. Let us take a look at how this journey has been, giving us some of the company's most innovative handsets over the years.
HONOR 4X
June 2015, the X series had a well-established presence in 74 countries. The HONOR 5X quickly became the company's first major global hit. Within a few months of its October 2015 launch, the HONOR 5X had managed to sell upwards of 8 million units worldwide. The HONOR 5X, clad in aviation-grade aluminium, came equipped with advanced technologies such as an ultra-fast fingerprint scanner and a 5.5-inch full-HD (**) display. Such was its popularity that by June of 2016, the phone had already managed to move 8 million units globally.
HONOR 5X
The HONOR 6X arrived a year later, and was the first phone from the X series in India to run on the in-house Kirin 655 processor. This metal-clad handset also offered a dual-camera setup, in keeping with the trends of the time. Such was the excitement surrounding its launch that it had received 1 million registrations after just 24 hours of being listed for its flash sale.
HONOR 6X
One of the most successful smartphones in the HONOR X lineup was the 7X, which had sold more than 10 million units in less than a year of its launch. The HONOR 7X was among the company's last smartphones to go for a metal body. It sported a dual-camera setup on the back for the photography enthusiasts, but also impressed with its performance and battery life. The smartphone's first flash sale in India saw the smartphone go out of stock within seconds, a testament to the X series' popularity in the country. It was around this time that HONOR had announced that it had crossed the 40 million sales milestone for the X series worldwide, which shows how the series has grown from strength to strength.
HONOR 7X
Next in line was the HONOR 8X with its glass-sandwich design and its chic look, quickly grabbing everyone's fancy. This stunning smartphone also offered a full-screen front surface and a dual-camera setup. The smartphone also had innovations such as GPU Turbo for gaming optimisations, over 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, TUV Rheinland-certified display to protect the eyes from blue light, and AR Stickers, among innumerable others. So it was no wonder that nine months following its launch, the HONOR 8X sales had touched 15 million units globally. It was also the best-selling smartphone online in China for four straight months.
HONOR 8X
Then arrived the HONOR 9X, the first of the line with triple camera and no notch, being full display with pop-up selfie camera. They came with the latest 7nm Kirin 810 chipset. Honor company has announced that in just 29 days of the Honor 9X series smartphones getting launched, it has crossed the sales mark of three million units. The number of sales is the combination of both the devices — Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro.
HONOR 9X
The HONOR X series and, in fact, all the other phones from the brand, are all about packing in the latest technologies with striking designs, at affordable prices. This is why the phone continues to be a smash hit with millennials!
The expectations are sky-high for the next HONOR X series phone - HONOR 10X that is set to launch really soon!
