And we've been talking about this for a while now, and in recent times, more and more operators have been approaching this new technology.
WHAT ARE ESIM?
The "e" stands for embedded, indicating that the eSIM chip is integrated directly into every device compatible by manufacturers. The eSIM can also be called "virtual SIM", because the SIM card is replaced by a virtual service. Simply put, you no longer have to physically own a tissue (SIM, nanoSIM or microSIM)to own the phone number as well, but this becomes virtually activated on your smartphone in just a few steps. The dematerialization of the SIM card allows the user to activate the number more quickly and have a service similar (at least in concept) to that of the home line where you already own the line and the device to make phone calls and the assignment of the phone number becomes only a matter of service.
No problem with the ICCID code, that is, the one that uniquely identifies the SIM and is used during the transition from one operator to another, this too can be inserted into softsim, or eSIM that you want.
BENEFITS OF ESIM
The advantages of eSIM are manifold: the first and most obvious is the impossibility of losing the SIM card. In this way you will no longer have to worry about losing or maybe mistakenly breaking the small SIM in your smartphone: one less component is always good news. In addition, manufacturers will be able to make smartphones with larger batteries or use sim space (which is not a small part in the design of a smartphone) for other technologies.
There will then be no need to physically acquire a new portability card and you can then enable everything virtually on your smartphone, transferring the phone number from one operator to another more quickly. Finally, in the future, you may no longer have to physically go to the store if digital verification systems are put in place.
The planet also thanks, it will avoid having to dispose of thousandsof damaged supports or for change of opertorein thefuture, as well as the fact that you do not have to use resources for the production of classic Sim.
eSIM in Italy
In Italy not all operators are ready for this new technology, but several declare to make them available by 2021
What eSIM activates
The activation process is quite simple for all smartphones and it is usually just a matter of pointing the camera at the QR code to activate the whole thing.
AND HONOR?
For the moment it is not one of the suppliers of this type of service, HUAWEI instead has already started to produce phones that support this technology (lately also a *),there is no shortage of the usual Samsung, Oppo, Apple, Motorola, Google etc etc.
Who knows in the future.... .
What about you? Do you own a phone with eSIM?
Did you know about its existence?
Is this technology present in your country?
