Today's report is about setting up and using the Earbuds 2.

To connect the Earbuds 2 to your phone you need to go to the settings in your phone.

Then go to the device connections and now to the Bluetooth settings.

To connect the Honor Earbuds to your phone, please make sure that your device is visible to others nearby.

To find the Honor Earbuds 2, open the lid of the charging cradle and press the button on the right side for about 2 seconds. The LED must flash white to start a pairing procedure.

Once the Earbuds are paired, you can select which media content the Earbuds 2 are enabled for. Calls, media and contacts.

Your Earbuds are now connected to the phone and ready to use.

Now it is time to get to know the individual functions of the Earbuds 2.

If you have put the Earbuds in your ear, there are a number of operating options on both Earbuds (functions can be accessed via both the right and left earbuds).

First, let's look at how you can listen to a phone call or a piece of music from your media library.

To do this, tap the right or left earpiece twice in quick succession.

This activates music playback or, in the case of a call, accepts the call.

Tap again (2x) to end the music playback or hang up the phone and end a call.

Pretty simple, isn't it?

But don't be put off if the music or the call does not end immediately.

Just be a little patient. It has happened to me several times that I have ended the media playback by tapping twice again and then immediately restarted it.

However, the Earbuds 2 have another option to be adjusted directly at the ear.

To do this, press the Earbud of your choice for about 2 seconds. Now, in the first mode, Noice Cancelling is activated, in the second mode, Awareness Mode is activated and Noice Cancelling is deactivated.

In the third mode, the awareness mode is deactivated.

But what is the awareness mode? How does it work?

Before I introduce you to the Awareness Mode, I would like to explain how the Noice Cancelling Mode works.

In Noise Cancelling mode, all background noise that reaches the Earbuds is perceived as noise and filtered out by the built-in software.

So if you want to have peace and quiet while listening to music, this mode is exactly the right one for you. However, you must pay attention in this mode if you are spoken to or if warning signals sound. These are also recognised as "noise" and filtered out by the Earbuds 2.

The Awareness Mode is an adapted Nocie-Canelling Mode in which an AI built into the Earbuds recognises voices from the immediate surroundings and makes them more audible.

I have some Active Noise Cancelling headphones that filter out background noise very intensively, through to over-ear headphones that cut me off completely from the environment.

With the Honor Earbuds 2, I can still hear the surroundings very clearly even with active noise cancelling and in awareness mode. I hope that a stronger noise cancellation will be possible within the scope of an update.
