Honor hosted an imaging technology conference to reveal the full capabilities of the Honor Magic 3 Series camera, computational photography, Honor Image Engine, and optimization. Zhao Ming, CEO of Honor, took the stage at the start of the event to deliver the keynote speech.
According to Zhao Ming, prior to the relaunch of the Honor brand, the company's market share had dropped to a low of 3%. However, the introduction of a series of new devices is gaining market attention and regaining lost ground. Honor's share increased to 14.6 percent when the Honor Magic 3 series was launched on August 12 of this year, and it now stands at 16.2 percent.
Honor Image Engine

Honor also has extensive knowledge and technical expertise in cell phone imaging. Zhao Ming revealed Honor's new self-designed HONOR Image Engine, which was developed after extensive research into the concept of cell phone image development.

Honor officially launched the latest imaging technology – multi-master fusion computational photography, while the industry's first time to do the whole lens involved, the whole focal length fusion computational photography, through RGB, grayscale, spectrum, depth, and other multi-dimensional information comprehensive optimization.
According to Honor CEO Zhao Ming, the future direction of cell phone photography is: fundamental image quality versus professional equipment, scene optimization versus retoucher, and expression creation versus photographer.
Honor unveiled the Magic3 series in August of this year, when the HONOR Image Engine computational photography platform was launched, completing the three primary capabilities of software optimization, which can unify the image style across chip platforms.
According to the introduction, the main camera fusion computational photography can reconcile the contradiction between sensor size upgrade and overall machine thickness. According to Honor's official data, the Magic3 series multi-camera fusion computing photography can provide a full focal length HD experience.
Color main camera + black and white fusion can make the light intake increased by 13%, 18% increase in clarity.

Honor Magic3 series, which offers a revolutionary multi-primary fusion computational photography, considerably improving shooting experience. The Honor Magic3 series accomplishes the fusion of colour main camera + ultra-wide angle lens, allowing it to overcome the constraints of ultra-wide-angle sensors generally found in the industry and shoot two images with both the main camera and ultra-wide-angle lens while capturing ultra-wide-angle photos.
Following that, using strong arithmetic to fuse the two images, the higher pixel image captured by the primary camera will fill in the details in the centre area, increasing the centre sharpness by up to 80% and improving the picture quality of ultra-wide-angle photos.
To avoid hard transitions after fusion, the Honor Magic3 series includes an intelligent smoothing algorithm that automatically changes the smoothing region to avoid hard transitions, resulting in a fused photo that looks more natural and fluid, as if it were originally a picture.
Furthermore, the Honor Magic3 series supports the fusion of colour main camera + telephoto lens, similar to the fusion of ultra-wide angle, can improve the clarity of the central part of the main camera through the telephoto lens, can improve the clarity of the image shooting 54 ~ 94mm focal length, thus significantly increasing the image quality of the portrait focal length, clarity can be improved by up to 180%.
It is also worth noting that Zhao Ming stated that the performance after the fusion has a significant advantage over the iPhone 12 Pro shooting effect, and Zhao Ming stated that the Honor Magic3 series equipped with multi-primary fusion computing photography technology is completely unafraid of the latest iPhone 13 Pro series, which is very exciting.
