HONOR MagicWatch 2 vs Huawei * GT2: what’s similar, and what’s the difference? In this thread, the specifications, designs, prices, and main features of the two watches will be compared. 

HONOR MagicWatch 2 was released on 26th November 2019, while the Huawei * GT2 was released in September 2019. Both smartwatches comes in two sizes, 42mm and 46mm. Though that was a year ago, both models are still pretty popular because of their fashionable design and competitive prices.

Both HONOR MagicWatch 2 and Huawei * GT2 have two different sizes, 42mm and 46mm. From first sight, the two smartwatches look similar, but there is still a few difference.

Firstly, the circular dials of HONOR MagicWatch 2 and Huawei * GT2 are different. Let’s start with the 46mm variant. For the HONOR Magic * 2, you could see tachymeter on the dial with some numbers, which could be used to test speed. While the dial of the Huawei * GT2 has numbers that seem show hours.

For the 42mm variant, the difference is also obvious. The metal frame of HONOR MagicWatch 2 is visibly wider than that of the Huawei * GT2.

Secondly, on the power button of the 46mm version of HONOR MagicWatch 2, you could see a red circle, while the two buttons on the Huawei * GT2 look exactly the same.

Thirdly, the Huawei * GT2 offers more choices to the consumers than the HONOR MagicWatch 2 and could better suit the needs of different occasions.

For each variant, the HONOR MagicWatch 2 only comes in two different colors. It comes in Flax Brown and Charcoal Black for the 46mm variant, while for the 42mm variant, only Sakura Gold and Agate Black colors are available.

The Huawei * GT2, for both 42mm and 46mm variants, comes in 4 different colors. The 42mm version of Huawei * GT2 comes in Refined Gold, Lake Cyan, Night Black, and Gravel Beige. The four colors available for the 46mm version are Titanium Grey, Sunset Orange, Matte Black and Pebble Brown.

In terms of features, HONOR MagicWatch 2 and Huawei * GT2 are almost the same but still, there are a few slight differences.

Firstly, after the firmware update, the HONOR MagicWatch 2 both variants, support 100 workout modes, including 15 professional workout modes and 85 customized workout modes. This feature is now available also for Huawei * GT2.

Secondly, the Huawei * GT2 also supports the First Beat algorithm, which makes the data tracked from this smartwatch more comprehensive than the HONOR MagicWatch 2.

When speaking of price, the Huawei * GT2 is obviously higher than the HONOR MagicWatch 2.

The Huawei * GT2 46mm version in Titanium Grey is now priced at 219.90€ and the 42mm version in Lake Cyan, Night Black and Gravel Beige at 159.90€. HONOR MagicWatch 46mm is priced at 159.90€ and the 42mm variant at 139.90€.
