HONOR Magic4 Pro: Now can compete with the greats!
HONOR decides to aim high with HONOR Magic4 Pro: the most powerful, the most versatile, the most expensive
A magical device, so HONOR declares it, thanks to a high-resolution camera compartment, fast charging at 100W and a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Can it compete with the other top of the range? The answer in the Hardware Upgrade review.
Introduction
HONOR is back, and it's also back in the premium range of smartphones. The one in which users must shell out at least € 1,000 to be able to buy a device. The counter game, however, is to be able to obtain a powerful, versatile and highly competitive smartphone. Here the return of HONOR knows again because although the company celebrated its return to the smartphone market a few months ago with the HONOR 50, the device was a medium range by data sheet. Here, however, the substance is decidedly different with Magic4 Pro which can be defined in all respects a real top of the range ready to compete with giants such as Samsung Galaxy S22 +, Google Pixel 6 Pro or even Apple iPhone 13 Pro or even OPPO Find X5.
And on paper, actually HONOR Magic4 Pro is really competitive. First of all for its portentous photographic sector that sees a triad of thick sensors including a 50 Megapixel main, a 50 Megapixel ultra-wide angle camera and a 64 Megapixel telephoto periscope camera with 3.5x optical zoom or digital up to 100x . In addition to this, a processor of the highest order such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 capable of going up to 2.99GHz with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory but also the highly sought-after fast charging that here reaches record standards with a wired or even wireless charging from 100W. capable of fully filling the battery in just over 30 minutes.
And then again the display that here is not only LTPO OLED, curved on all four sides allowing it to adapt to the hand, with a billion colors and which pushes up to Full HD + resolution (1312x2848 pixels) with the characteristic of being an LTPO that adopts for the first time a 1,920Hz PWM dimming for trouble-free viewing and with lower power consumption as well as less eye strain.
And if all this is truly at the top, perhaps the only sore point is the software that remains a bit at stake in a world where users are now used to being '' pampered '' by manufacturers with extended functionality and attractive graphics. Here HONOR can be seen that it has yet to return to full capacity and we are sure that in the Chinese laboratories a new graphic interface is already being tested with functionality and layout much more suited to the novelties of Android 12 and also of the future Android 13.
The review
