How long does the battery of the HONOR GS 3 really last? Find out in this article

I have been using HONOR GS 3 for several months, the elegant HONOR sport wearable, with excellent sensors for detecting biometric data and an attractive design in all its variants. Between home, work, gym, outdoor activities, seaside life, I put it to the test in different usage scenarios, always keeping an eye on the battery.

HONOR claims that the GS 3 can last up to 14 days of use in typical scenarios: Bluetooth calling for 30 minutes per week, playing music for 30 minutes per week, heart rate tracker always on, training for 90 minutes per week (GPS active), notifications active (50 messages, 6 incoming calls, 3 alarms per day), screen illuminated 200 times a day. Also with active GPS during outdoor training with path tracking, HONOR declares an autonomy of 30 hours. Eventually, according to HONOR laboratory data, from 3% of remaining battery with only 5 minutes of charging, you can use GS 3 for a whole day.

HONOR GS 3 charge duration test

These in the pictures you see are the first charging timepoints of my HONOR GS 3, unboxed and 100% charged on May 29th. The last charge of this test was on the evening of July 16: on average almost 8 days to consume the battery of the HONOR GS 3.

The value obtained takes into account the following settings:

· activation of the screen by rotating the wrist;

· maximum brightness, sound and vibration;

· Always on Display mostly disabled;

· monitoring of intelligent heart rate, sleep and stress;

· SpO2 24h mainly deactivated;

· remote control of the music;

· 18 workouts (3 with GPS: outdoor walk, swimming, 5h excursion);

· display on during training;

· one alarm per day;

· receiving social notifications and sms.

Obviously, the values of 15-18 days that I recorded with HONOR GS PRO (which at the moment, even after 2 years, has no rivals in terms of autonomy, not even among other brands), and only a small software optimization on HONOR GS 3, in my opinion, to reach a medium-stress use like mine up to 10 days.

I also noticed that the bluetooth connection remains active with the smartphone, even with bluetooth disabled, allowing the reception of notifications. While on the one hand it is a convenience, on the other hand it is a drain on the battery.

How many days do you go with the HONOR GS 3 battery?

According to my tests HONOR GS 3 with intense use has a battery that lasts a week; with medium stressful use it can take up to 10 days. Besides, I have never succeeded, also because it would be a drastic reduction of its potential or a limitation to a simple digital clock without the smart and sport-tracking side.
