HONOR Band 6 vs Mi Band 5: What's the same and different?
HONOR Band 6 introduction:
Launched currently only in China, HONOR Band 6 is a new fitness tracker updated from the earlier HONOR Band 5. Featuring a 1.47 inches AMOLED display, HONOR Band 6 is equipped with various workout modes, basic step count, and many useful features include 24/7 sleep monitoring, stress monitoring, Spo2 and many other. In China, it comes with the NFC version and non-NFC version and available in black, white and pink colors.
Also the battery of HONOR Band 6 could last for 14 days in typical use and 10 days in heavy use. What’s more, same as many other fitness tracker, the waterproof level is also 5 ATM.
Mi Band 5 introduction:
Mi Band 5 was released on 11 June 2020 which is the latest from Mi brand. It comes with 1.1 inches AMOLED display which is much smaller than that of the HONOR Band 6 if you wear both on.
Same as the HONOR band 6, Mi Band 5 is also equipped with various workout modes, the basic step count and a lot of useful features include 24/7 sleep monitoring, stress monitoring, menstrual cycle tracking and reminders and many more.

HONOR Band 6 vs Mi Band 5: Display
To begin with, though both bands feature the same AMOLED display, the screen of the HONOR Band 6 is much larger than that of the HONOR Band 5. To make it more specific, the display of HONOR Band 6 is 33.6% larger. This makes it much easier to operate on the screen, for example to find certain workout modes that you want, while with more artistic * faces available meets the needs to give the fitness tracker new looks.
HONOR Band 6 vs Mi Band 5: Health monitoring
Both HONOR Band 6 and Mi band 5 supports 24/7 heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, stress monitoring and breathing exercise, and menstrual cycle tracking and reminders. However HONOR band 6 also support SpO2 measuring.
So if you want this feature on your new fitness band, you may consider HONOR Band 6 instead of Mi Band 5.

HONOR Band 6 vs Mi Band 5: Operation
Both HONOR Band 6 and Mi Band 5 come with a touchscreen, so it’s convenient to access many features directly from the screen. Other than that, there is a power button on the side which can also help you to access the features from the screen.
For HONOR Band 6, to unveil all its features, you need to download and install an APP from HONOR on your phone, then pair the fitness tracker with the phone. It’s same for the Mi Band 5.
Though these two fitness trackers use different apps, basically it’s pretty easy to use and you don’t even have to read the user manual beforehand.
The app offers you a view of the full report, for example, heart rate, stress date, while you can easily change the settings or set up an alarm, or change the * face.

HONOR Band 6 vs Mi Band 5: workout modes
Both HONOR Band 6 and Mi Band 5 can detect workout modes. And the types of workout modes available are a little bit different. You can get indoor running, outdoor running, outdoor cycling, outdoor walking, indoor cycling, other (freestyle training), pool swimming (supports auto-identifying stroke style), indoor walking, elliptical, and rower on the HONOR Band 6.
While on the Mi Band 5, the workout modes available are indoor running, other (freestyle training), pool swimming, cycling, walking, outdoor running, indoor walking, elliptical, rower, jump rope, and yoga.
HONOR Band 6 vs Mi Band 5: battery & charger, GPS, NFC and other features
The battery of the HONOR Band 6 in normal use can last for 14 days, while in heavy use 10 days. Regarding of the battery performance, either is better than the other, but we can see both can meet basic needs. The HONOR Band 6 comes with magnetic charging pin, same with the Mi Band 5.
Neither the HONOR Band 6 nor the Mi Band 5 supports GPS, but both have the NFC version available.
Other than this, it’s also worth mentioning that though on both HONOR Band 6 and Mi Band 5 users can get call reminders and notifications, answering the phone is not possible.
To sum it up, both HONOR Band 6 and Mi Band 5 are great and competitive fitness trackers, while each has something of its own. Which one to buy? It depends on if you demand certain features or workout modes, and also which design do you prefer.
