HONOR Band 6 is the latest fitness tracker after the former one HONOR Band 5 from HONOR, which was launched in the late 2019. Except for the bigger touchscreen, which is 54.7% bigger, HONOR Band 6 is also equipped with a few new features, while the design is much more user-friendly.

In terms of appearance, in general, Honor Band 6 basically continues the design of Honor Band 5. But the difference is that the Honor Band 6 has a physical power button on the right side of the frame. On the left side of the frame you can see a big HONOR logo, which looks similar to the back design of the HONOR 30 smartphone.

Most media have announced that the HONOR Band 6 lead fitness tracker into the big screen era. This is definitely not exaggeration but the truth. There is no other fitness tracker in the market that comes with such a large touch screen which is 1.47 inches. The screen of the HONOR Band 5 is only 0.95 inches, which is only 64.6% of that of the HONOR Band 6.

And since both come with touchscreen, that means the operation from the screen of HONOR Band 6 is much easier and convenient. Also there are more artistic * faces to give the fitness tracker new looks.

Both HONOR Band 6 and HONOR Band 5 have replaceable silicone strap, AMOLED touchscreen, plastic body, and 2.5D curved glass lens.

As for health monitoring features, HONOR Band 5 supports 24/7 heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, the basic steps count, and SpO2 measuring. The HONOR Band 6, except for these features, also supports Stress and breathing exercise and menstrual cycle tracking and reminders.

When talking about the workout modes supported, both HONOR Band 6 and HONOR Band 5 support same 10 workout modes. They are Indoor running, outdoor running, outdoor cycling, outdoor walking, indoor cycling, freestyle training, pool swimming (supports auto-identifying stroke style), indoor walking, elliptical, and rower.

HONOR Band 6 vs HONOR Band 5: battery and charger

Battery life is what we should consider also when purchasing a new electronic device. HONOR Band 6 has an 180mAh battery, which can last for 14 days in typical use, while 10 days in heavy use. The battery capacity of the HONOR Band 5 is 100mAh, but since the screen is smaller, in typical use it can also last for 14 days which is when Huawei TruSleep and continuous heart rate monitoring disabled. When both enabled, it can last for 6 days, while 9 days when only Huawei TruSleep enabled.

We can see that both fitness trackers have decent battery, which could totally meet our daily use.

The HONOR band 5 has a charging dock which you need to attach to the right position of the fitness band to charge it. We must say that the charger of the HONOR Band 6 is much more user friendly, which is a magnetic charger. When you place the charger near the band, the charger will connect to the band directly.

HONOR Band 6 vs HONOR Band 5: other useful features

There are many other features other than workout modes and health monitoring on both HONOR Band 6 and HONOR Band 5.

On both fitness trackers, you can set an alarm, stopwatch and Timer, check activity records, control music, control the camera of the phone to get a shot, receive notifications, check weather, turn on the flashlight and initiate find the phone function.

However since the HONOR Band 5’s screen is smaller, some of the features can only be accessed on the phone from the HONOR sports app instead of directly from the touchscreen.
