In 2019, Huawei/Honor launched Huawei Mobile Service (HMS) as an operating system management service for their smartphones. While tremendous progress has been made to expand the HMS ecosystem, the gap with Android and Google Mobile Services (GMS) is still large.

On April 14, Huawei announced that bluesource (https://www.bluesource.net/), its main partner for enterprise app solutions in Europe, has created an open source solution that allows developers to convert apps with Google Mobile Services (GMS) for AppGallery, without requiring a new development of the app.

This new solution is called Choice SDK, which allows app developers to easily transform their existing GMS and Firebase framework-based apps into apps that can be used on devices with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS).

This helps developers save resources and time in re-adapting the app, as well as providing optimizations to run their app smoothly on devices with HMS.

According to the information, bluesource originally developed Choice SDK as a switch solution for Raiffeisen Bank in order to help the Austrian bank make its apps available to HMS device users.

The solution, which builds on bluesource's expertise in adapting apps for multiple businesses, has since been made available as open source software so other brands and developers can adapt their apps faster, more securely and cost effectively.

A growing number of companies have already used the bluesource choice engine to secure their presence on the AppGallery, including the Austrian domestic brands ORF (national television broadcaster), Raiffeisen banking apps, Austrian Federal Railways OBB, Austrian postal service and l Aktionsfinder app to find the best deals in Austria.

More than 60 companies have partnered with bluesource to take advantage of their technology and consulting to successfully bring their apps to the AppGallery. Choice SDK complements a wide range of existing Huawei-developed plugins to help developers convert and adapt their apps for the HMS ecosystem.
