Fixing Boot Problems on HONOR Devices
If your HONOR phone won’t power on, gets stuck at the startup screen, or keeps rebooting, you can try the following methods to get it working again.
1. Try a Force Restart
When your phone freezes on the HONOR logo or won’t respond:
- Hold down the Power button for 10–15 seconds until the device restarts.
- If that doesn’t help, press and hold Power + Volume Down until the phone reboots.
2. Ensure Proper Charging
A drained or improperly charged battery may prevent the device from starting.
- Always use the original HONOR charger and cable.
- Plug it in and let it charge for at least 30 minutes before turning it back on.
- If the battery was fully depleted, the phone may take a few minutes before showing any response.
3. Clear Cache via Recovery Mode (Resolve System Errors)
If the device powers on but stays stuck at the boot screen, clear the system cache:
- Turn the phone off completely.
- Press and hold Power + Volume Up until the HONOR logo appears.
- Navigate with the Volume buttons to choose Wipe cache partition, then confirm with the Power button.
- Afterward, select Reboot system now.
4. Boot into Safe Mode (Identify Faulty Apps)
If your phone starts but keeps crashing or restarting:
- Power off the device.
- Hold the Power button until you see the HONOR logo, then release.
- Quickly press and hold Volume Down until the device boots into Safe Mode.
- If it loads successfully, an app may be causing the issue. Uninstall any recently downloaded apps.
5. Factory Reset (Last Option)
If none of the above fixes work, a factory reset may be necessary:
- Enter Recovery Mode again (Power + Volume Up).
- Select Wipe data/factory reset and confirm.
- Once done, choose Restart.
Important: A factory reset will erase everything on the phone. Back up your data first if you can.
