Unable to uninstall an app
| Unable to uninstall an app |
Refer to the following to troubleshoot.
Unable to uninstall basic system function apps
- To ensure that your phone functions normally, the pre-installed basic function apps and important apps cannot be uninstalled.
- If you attempt to uninstall a pre-installed system app that was recently updated, you may have only uninstalled the update. You can touch and hold the app icon, and check whether an app uninstallation option is displayed. If not, the app cannot be uninstalled.
A third-party home screen app is used
If you are using a third-party home screen app, it may stop you from uninstalling some apps. Use the original home screen as follows: Open Settings, search for and access Default app settings, touch Launcher, and select Honor Home.
The app is activated
Deactivate the downloaded app, and then Uninstall it. To do so, open Settings, search for Device administrators, find the app in question, touch Deactivate, and then try Uninstall the app again.
Home screen layout is locked
Apps cannot be uninstalled if Lock layout is enabled. To disable Lock layout, pinch two fingers together on the home screen to enter editing mode, touch Home screen settings, and disable Lock layout.
A memory card has been inserted into your phone
In Android 10.0, when you uninstall a third-party app (such as WhatsApp or Zoom), the system checks the file path in the memory card. As a result, the app may not respond when you touch Uninstall. In this case, remove the SIM card slot (memory card slot) and try uninstalling the app.
