我的荣耀 开启荣耀之旅

Now If you're like me you may well have watched the Livestream Honor presented today. If not, you can find it here: https://www.hihonor.com/global/events/all-scenario-intelligence/
Honor used their * to announce a few new exciting products, including the View 30 Pro, and 9X Pro for Europe, but also, they announced the long awaited MagicBook series for a Europe wide audience. This post has a focus on the 14 as it's out soon, but there is also a 15" version with all of the below features which will launch soon too.
They say a picture tells a thousand words, which is why I have captured the best bits of the Livestream to bring to you. Let's dive in shall we.

Firstly, about the design. Many laptops of this price bracket are either thin, or light, but rarely do they manage to avoid a compromise on one or the other. Honor have made a laptop that is thin, and light for it's budget class.
Also, the edges have a blue accenting, which means it'll stand out from the crowd.

The MagicBook 14 has a nifty Porsche 924 style pop up camera, for security and privacy, and can rotate 180° on it's hinge axis. It also has a 84% Screen to body ratio (A higher number means less bezel area) and TUV certification for blue light filtering. This is great for those who spend their nights on productivity software on their laptops.

The Magicbook also has a fingerprint scanner on the power button. Many laptops have this as a separate entity, but making it integral to the power button is more intutitive and is a nice touch (get it?) by Honor.

No laptop is worth it if it doesn't last, and Honor have managed to put a large for it's weight and price bracket battery that claims 10 hours of battery life. I'd love to see this tested! Also, with a 65W charger, it will be charged and ready in no time flat.
Also, unlike a certain fruit based laptop maker, Honor provide multiple ports for people, so they don't have to pay an extra £40 for adaptors to connect their devices to the MagicBook 14.

The MagicBook 14 is powered by the Ryzen 5 3500U (Details here: https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-5-3500u). This is a 4 core, 8 thread CPU, with up to 3.7Ghz on tap. This also comes with a Vega 8 class Radeon GPU, is based on a 12nm process and uses a maximum of 35 watt depending on the workload. This is a powerful CPU and will handle workflows, and games pretty well for a lower cost, thin and light laptop.
It is backed up by 8GB of DDR 4 RAM in a dual channel configuration, a 256GB PCI-E SSD (Rare for this price bracket), and uses a novel S type cooling system for better thermal efficiency and CPU consitency.

FInally, it will cost less than £600 going by the € cost, which makes it a compelling option when it launches in March. However, that's just my view, what do you think? Did you watch the Livestream? What do you think of this Laptop and how will it fit in your home? Let me know in the comments! :)
