Hey there guys!
Hope everyone's managing to enjoy having to spend a bit more time at home. Here's something that might make your day a bit more interesting! Following Matt's post on the 9X Pro * the 9X, I thought I'd see how it measures up to another worthy budget competitor - the Samsung A50. Overall, the main differences between the two are the display, performance, and camera which I break down further below.

Display
Both phones come with a high-quality display which is bright and colorful. Samsung offers a 6.4-inch dewdrop display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. Meanwhile, the HONOR 9X PRO comes with a 6.59-inch display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080.
Just look at the numbers, you might be thinking these two phones are really big. Actually, thanks to the pop-up camera design, the screen-to-body ratio of the HONOR 9X PRO is as high as 92%. As a result, though the display size is bigger, you can still hold the HONOR 9X PRO with a single hand easily. It is very easy to understand what a high screen-to-body ratio means. The bigger the display, the more you can see. You can watch videos with a bigger screen, and you can have a bigger view when playing the game. That’s why the HONOR 9X PRO beats the Samsung A50 in the display. The Samsung A50 has a lower screen-to-body ratio, 84.9%.
Performance
The HONOR 9X PRO is powered by the 7nm Kirin 810 chipset. The Kirin 810 comes with an octa-core CPU and a Mali-G52 MP6 GPU. The CPU consists of two high-performance ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.27GHz and six smaller ARM Cortex-A55 cores ticking at 1.88GHz.
The Samsung A50 is equipped with the 10nm Exynos 9610. The Exynos 9610 chipset features 4 ARM Cortex-A73 powerful cores with a clocked speed of up to 2.3GHz while the other 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. In terms of GPU, the Exynos 9610 has Mali-G72 MP3 GPU.
Comparing to Exynos 9610, the Kirin 810 chipset is better in terms of CPU, GPU, and manufacturing process, making it more powerful and more power-efficient.
What’s more, the HONOR 9X provides huge storage of 256GB, giving it more space to store apps, music, and photos.
Camera
Samsung and HONOR make interesting choices when it comes to the camera. The Samsung comes with a 25MP front camera with F/2.0 aperture, making it a good choice for selfie. For the rear camera, it has a 25MP with f/1.7 aperture main lens, an 8-MP ultrawide lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP depth sensor.
Meanwhile, the HONOR 9X PRO has a 48MP main lens with f/1.8 aperture and a large 1/2 inch sensor. You can take high-resolution photos with impressive details with this lens.

HONOR 9X PRO - Ultra Wide-Angle Camera
Besides that, the HONOR 9X PRO also comes with an 8MP super-wide-angle camera as well as a 2MP depth assist camera.
Conclusion
The HONOR 9X PRO beats the Samsung A50 in terms of display and performance and main camera. If these are important to you, the HONOR 9X PRO is definitely the budget phone for you!
