Still remember the days when transferring contacts from one mobile platform to another meant manually typing in an endless amount of names, phone numbers and other information? Well, thankfully those days are gone. Nowadays, smartphones can do the work for us. And, to be honest, it can be accomplished in a very short period of time.
Do you know the best way to transfer contacts from iPhone to Android? Today we'll walk you through all of the easiest methods, so you can start enjoying your Android device in no time.
First of all, you'll need a Google account to use your Android device. If you haven't got one, simply go to Google's homepage and select the "create account" option. Alternatively, you can do this directly from your smartphone, but the desktop experience is much better.
Once you've finished creating your Google account, pick up your iPhone and navigate to the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" section of your Settings menu. This is where you'll type in your Google account information. Press the "Add Account" button, select the Gmail option, and type in your login information.
Your iPhone will then ask which parts of Google account you'd want to sync. Be sure to select the Contacts option. Then, your Android devices and iPhone will start syncing contacts with each other. This is when you need to be patient, because it could take some time if you have lots of contacts. Remember to keep an active Internet connection while your contacts are syncing.
It's worth noting that your iPhone won't tell you when your contacts are done syncing. In order to check on the progress, you can go to the Google Contacts website from your desktop, sign in with your Google account, and check up on the list of contacts from there.
Once your contacts are done syncing, you can log in to your Android device with your Google account information, and you should be all set!
If you have iCloud enabled on your iPhone, this method should take a very short amount of time.
Pick up your iPhone, go to Settings, choose "Mail, Contacts, Calendars", then choose "Accounts". There, you should see "iCloud" listed. Choose this option, then toggle on the "Contacts". Your iPhone will then prompt you to "Merge" your device's contacts with iCloud.
Once this process is done, go to icloud.com on your computer, log in with your Apple ID, then select "Contacts". Click on the gear icon in the bottom-left corner, then press "Select All". Then click the gear icon again and choose "Export vCard".
Go to gmail.com, click on the "Mail" button, then select "Contacts". Click the "More" tab, select "Import", select "Choose File", and then select your saved vCard file. Once it is done importing, Gmail will display the number of contacts that have been imported. Now you may have some duplicate contacts. Removing these duplicates is easy. Just click the "Find & Merge Duplicates" button under the "More" tab.
If your contacts are stored locally or if you use an email account other than Gmail, you can also transfer your contacts through iTunes on your Windows or Mac computer.
First, you should connect your iPhone to the computer. Open iTunes and go to the device screen by clicking "iPhone" in the top right corner. Open the Info tab, and then check the box next to "Sync Contacts with". From the dropdown menu, choose "Google Contacts", then type in your Google account information when prompted.
Once your iPhone is finished syncing, simply log in to your Android device with your Google account information, and your contacts should be all there.
Following these easy tips, you should have no problem transferring contacts from your iPhone to HONOR 10.
