Compared with HONOR 7X, the screen size of HONOR 8X has been further increased to 6.5 inches. However, thanks to the ultra-high screen ratio of 91%, the size of HONOR 8X doesn't appear very large. It is basically the same as ordinary 5.5-inch products.
It's worth mentioning that the phone uses COF packaging technique, which is usually only used in flagship products. It is precisely because of this that an affordable mid-range phone like HONOR 8X can also have a 4.25mm ultra-narrow bezel, which produces better visual effects during use.
HONOR 8X has adopted the popular double-glass design, and the back cover material has adopted double-texture stitching design and nano-scale optical film.
It's also worth mentioning that HONOR 8X has passed the TUV certification of eye protection. According to HONOR, once eye comfort mode is activated, it can effectively reduce the blue light radiation, adjust screen color temperature and brightness, and safeguard user's eye safety.
In the actual experience, after the eye comfort mode is activated on the phone, the screen color temperature will change, and the display effect will become somewhat warm. This feature is very useful if you are reading or surfing the Internet for a long time.
The 6.5-inch large screen, ultra-high screen ratio of 91%, and the addition of TUV-certified eye comfort mode enable HONOR 8X to give users a better experience in reading, video playback and other scenarios.
The processor of HONOR 8X is Kirin 710, which is significantly better than Kirin 659. This processor uses 12nm technique. The CPU architecture is four A73 big cores and four A53 small cores. The highest main frequency is 2.2GHz. In terms of GPU, it is integrated with Mali G51 MP4.
In GeekBench, HONOR 8X scored 1587 for single core and 5547 for multi-core. In Antutu, its score is close to 140 thousand. From the score, the performance of Kirin 710 is consistent with that of a mid-end processor, and is close to that of the Snapdragon 660 of the Qualcomm camp.
Of course, the score can only reflect the theoretical performance, and the actual performance still depends on the actual game experience. The blessing of GPU Turbo technology will effectively unleash the game performance of HONOR 8X.
Let's first look at the performance of HONOR 8X in the "Kings of Glory". We turn the image quality and frame rate to the highest. In the game, the frame rate is basically maintained at the 60-frame level, and the scene is also very smooth. In complex scenes, it can basically be kept above 55 frames. For heavy users of "Kings of Glory", the game performance of HONOR 8X can fully meet the demand.
Let's take another look at the performance of this phone in "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: Exciting Battlefield". When the image quality is set to HDR HD and the frame rate is set to high, the frame rate of HONOR 8X is quite stable, with the average number of frame being 30. It can be kept smooth throughout the game. For an affordable mid-range phone, this kind of performance has been quite good.
