As a successor to HONOR's bestseller last year, HONOR 8X offers a slew of features that are packed in an affordable budget option. The device is a major upgrade to the existing HONOR 7X. From a new processor, to bigger battery, to notch display, HONOR 8X has a lot to offer.

On the other hand, Realme 2 Pro brings us some top of the line features.

Both smartphones have the looks, performance and quite a few top features. Let's see what is going to happen if HONOR 8X and Realme 2 Pro go head to head against each other.

Design and Build

Realme 2 Pro's body is made of polycarbonate, and it feels like glass and metal. HONOR 8X is also well built, and despite its huge screen size, it doesn't feel big in hand. Both smartphones are solidly built, and their finishes make them feel more premium.

Display

Notches are present on both HONOR 8X and Realme 2 Pro. HONOR 8X has a standard notch and Realme 2 Pro has a notch that is waterdrop-shaped. Realme 2 Pro features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ 19.5:9 display with 409 ppi and very thin bezels. HONOR 8X has a bigger 6.5-inch Full HD+ 19:9 elongated display with a notch similar to the one on HONOR Play.

Although both handsets offer a full view screen, the one on Realme 2 Pro provides a better viewing experience due to the tear-drop notch.

Hardware and Performance

Realme 2 Pro is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdraon 660 AIE. And it has 8GB of RAM. HONOR 8X runs on HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset. And it has up to 6GB of RAM. Both the chipsets are well functioning and offer a lag-free experience when users run basic and moderately demanding tasks.

In terms of casual games, memory management and multitasking, both the smartphones will run smoothly.

Software and User Experience

Realme 2 Pro has its own custom UI: Color OS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. HONOR 8X comes with Android 8.1 Oreo based on the latest EMUI 8.2.

There are quite some bloatwares in both the UI. But they both offer a seamless experience in daily use.

Rear Camera

Realme 2 Pro has a primary 16MP f/1.7 sensor with a 5MP secondary depth sensor. HONOR 8X, on the other hand, has a 20MP primary sensor with a 2MP secondary depth sensor.

AI-enabled features and camera setup are present on both smartphones. Both the cameras of these handsets produce accurate colors and sharpness and good details.

Front Camera

A 16MP AI-enabled front shooter can be found on HONOR 8X, while Realme 2 Pro comes with a 16MP front shooter backed by AI-based imaging capabilities.

Battery

HONOR 8X has a bigger 3750mAh battery compared with the 3500mAh battery on Realme 2 Pro. Both phones can easily run for a day with heavy usage on a single charge.

Verdict

Both the smartphones are very good. They both offer great value for money propositions at their respective price point. But still, if put against each other head on, HONOR 8X will be the go-to choice for many.
