我的荣耀 开启荣耀之旅

It has been some time since HONOR 8X was launched. It has drawn the attention of many Huawei fans. But currently there're still many people who hold a wait-and-see attitude. They wonder whether this is a well-functioning phone and whether it's worth buying it. A few days ago, I bought an HONOR 8X. Let me share some of the most real user experiences with you.
Let's first talk about the appearance. HONOR 8X has abandoned the metal back cover frequently used in previous models and adopted double-sided glass that has a gentler touch and is more visually transparent. Although it is not as conspicuous as the aurora gradient color of Huawei P20 Pro, the HONOR 8X in my hands is still very discernible.
In terms of details, HONOR 8X comes with a 6.5-inch fullview screen. Thanks to the further narrowing of left and right bezels, the chin and forehead continue to be small. The high screen-to-body ratio brings a good visual impact. With the smooth transition of aluminum middle frame, the edge of the whole phone is visible yet not touchable. However, the retention of the notch and rear fingerprint still produces a certain sense of split.
In terms of photography, HONOR 8X comes with 20MP+2MP rear AI cameras. After taking a lot of sample photos, I found that the color reproduction is relatively accurate and the dynamic range is prompted in the case of sufficient daylight. But for highlighted area, there is still a lack of suppression. When the night falls, the noise and the smearing feeling are obvious, and the image quality is sloppy. But this is understandable considering its consumer base.
In terms of performance, HONOR 8X is equipped with Kirin 710 chipset. Although this SoC is not comparable to Kirin 970, it still can be considered the best mid-range chipset made in China. In the process of actual game of "Exciting Battlefield", although there was an obvious lagging at the moment of parachuting, the frame rate curve didn't fluctuate too much in the case of running or driving.
In terms of battery life, HONOR 8X is equipped with a 3750mAh battery, which meets the standards of large display smartphones. In the case of normal use for three hours, the battery life dropped from 100% to 56%. Moderate use for one day shouldn't be a problem. But the larger the battery capacity, the longer the charging time. The handset uses a MicroUSB connection instead of a modern, reversible Type-C interface. It takes 3 hours and 36 minutes to fully charge HONOR 8X.
In short, the overall performance of HONOR 8X is in line with our expectations for HONOR's mid-range flagship phone. Its cons include slow graphics performance, low speaker volume and poor quality of soft images in low light. Its pros include the fullview screen and long battery life. It might be a good choice for users who are not demanding and have a tight budget.
