What is NFC?
NFC (Near-field communication) is a wireless communication technology that makes lets devices share or exchange information or data.
What can NFC do?
Any examples?
TouchNGo is an example of NFC implementation. Other examples includes office access cards. Our LRT token uses NFC too.
What other things can NFC do?
With some earphones, pairing it to the phone is as simple as putting them close to each other. Yup, it is that simple!
Automate Task?
When the NFC reader (can be dedicated device or phone with NFC) scans a tag (the chip inside the TouchnGo card, access card, etc), we can use certain apps to then run a series of tasks or actions. The tags can act as a trigger for the action.
In the case of the video below, you can see how I have used the apps Trigger – Task Launcher to set the phone to VIBRATE mode. First card has not been programmed, so, there is no action when the phone detects it. Second card has been set as a trigger, so when the phone NFC detects the second card, it sets the phone to VIBRATE mode.
You can download the apps from Google Play. You will need the main apps and the plugin.

Note: Simple guide on how to use this apps is coming soon.

What is NFC?
NFC (Near-field communication) is a wireless communication technology that makes lets devices share or exchange information or data.
What can NFC do?
NFC-enabled devices support three modes of operation: card emulation mode, reader/writer mode, and peer-to-peer mode. This means your device can
emulate contactless smart cards
(such as bank, transit, and access cards). Reader/writer mode allows you to
scan NFC tags
(for example, you can scan an NFC tag to top up your train card), and peer-to-peer mode allows you to
quickly transfer music, images, apps, and other content between two NFC-enabled devices
