I have gotten the Honor 8X for a period of time. I am satisfied with its comprehensive experience. Now I have summarized some of its advantages and disadvantages for your reference
Rating:
Good
✓ Stunning design
✓ Large, vibrant display
✓ AI camera tech
✓ Two-day battery life
Bad
✕ Antiquated Micro-USB charging
✕ 3D gaming performance
✕ Not supporting NFC
Design
I like the design of Honor 8X very much though someone thinks its glossy back is prone to smudges and scratches. It looks very stylish and shining. It comes with a glossy textured glass back with a metal frame. Now there are three colors available, Black, Blue, and Red. The three colors show different personalities and you can choose the most suitable for you. The Honor 8X fingerprint sensor is located on the back, which is logical since there’s no space left for it on the front. It sports impressive 91% screen-to-body ratio with a small bottom chin this time.

Display
The Honor 8X’s display panel uses the borderless design. It sports a 6.5-inch LTPS LCD display with a 2340 x 1080 resolution, producing a density of 397 pixels per inch, which means it offers slightly more than Full HD. This results in a somewhat oversaturated looking panel when using the default “Vivid” setting, but only when compared another smartphone, it’s really noticeable.
Performance
The Honor 8X comes with a HiSilicon Kirin 710 with Cortex-A73 cores, which can deal with multiple tasks. However, the device isn’t equipped with 3D gaming performance, but it has enough performance for everyday use.
What’s more, there’s also a dual SIM slot, microSD card port, along with NFC and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. They are very useful. And the rear fingerprint scanner is highly responsive and face recognition is also very speedy.
Camera
The dual camera of Honor 8X is on the back, featuring 20MP and 2MP sensors with a f/1.8 aperture and Phase Detection Auto Focus.
Honor’s big selling point with all of its recent phones are their AI camera capabilities. The Honor 8X recognizes 22 different scenarios and identifies 50 different objects, which can automatically optimize a variety of settings according to what you're shooting. And it highlights five major modes — Aperture, Night, Portrait, Photo, and Video. For low light shots, you can also go for the dedicated Night mode and the function is in particular better than others. (Honor 8X photos share)
Battery
The Honor 8X houses a 3,740mAh battery. It is a big battery, so it’s no problem surviving a full day with even the most demanding user. As for the remaining days of use, it depends on your daily power consumption. I usually like using the Honor 8X to take lots of pictures, enjoy music, and browse the web. And my battery can be used for about two days. If you use your phone less frequently, your phone should last more days.
However, the downside in this category is that micro-USB port on the bottom. It seems dated not to have a USB Type-C included.
In general, with such a budget price, the Honor 8X is an excellent phone and worth buying.
