Honor's President, George Zhao, said that "I believe in the future, the virtual world will merge with reality" on the future of smartphones in relation to Augmented Reality (AR) applications during the launch of the HONOR View20 in Paris recently1.
Guess what? The future is indeed here with Google Play Services for AR; formerly known as ARCore (link to PeaceHunter's article on "What exactly is ARCore" can be found here2) and Huawei has among the most supported devices listed on ARCore's site. Below is a brief overview of the listing3:

If you’re wondering why you can’t find other popular models such as the Honor 20 Lite, Honor 10 Lite or Honor Play listed, fret not as all you need to do is to just follow the guide detailed below on how to install Google’s ARCore on those unsupported models
i- Download and install the latest Google Play Services for AR v1.12 from APK Mirror
ii- Reboot and enjoy in having ARCore support on your device
To test out this new functionality, we’re going to use the game Pokémon Go which got added with ARCore support a few months back4 and the impressive before and after result can be seen below. All photos are taken on an Honor Play device
With ARCore support (unoffically) on the Honor Play, AR+ pictures taken in Pokémon Go are clear and vibrant

Without ARCore, AR pictures turns out to be blurry and bland
