As another popular antivirus and anti-malware app, Lookout comes pre-installed on many devices. It functions fundamentally well. The features include phishing protection, scans, anti-theft protection, malware protection, and more. It also has some additional features like WiFi scanning, identity protection, and identity insurance. That gives it a bit of a different perspective than most other antivirus apps.
Malwarebytes is one of the most popular antivirus software on Windows. The mobile version is also very good. It features a permission tracker, support for malware and ransomware, an aggressively updated virus database, and more. It can even scan messages in SMS, Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. for potentially dangerous links. Of course, it does the routine job of scanning well, too. The app looks nice, functions well, and it's not too heavy like others.
McAfee is one of the most celebrated names in antivirus apps, and it's also one of the heaviest. Its main features include anti-spyware, anti-theft, scanning, and security locking. Some additional features include taking photos of your potential phone thief, record locations to the cloud before the phone shuts down, and more. It also has various standalone apps for other purposes. The UI is old, which doesn't look very good. There are booster features that don't work. And you need to create an account to go pro. The antivirus portion of the app works really well. However, it remains one of the weaker options in our top 15.
Norton Security has its share of ups and downs. The app comes with a lot of the basic features, including spyware protection, malware protection, and other protections. There are also additional features, which include anti-theft protection, real-time protection, saving device location when the battery is low, and more. It's one of the more expensive options in antivirus apps. However, it has a suite version that is available for $39.99 per year that covers your mobile devices as well as your computer. Norton also offers other apps, like a dedicated applock app that are actually not bad.
Sophos is one of our favorite antivirus and anti-malware apps for HONOR View20. It includes all of the basic features, including a virus scanner, malware protection, app protections, web filtering, Wi-Fi security, theft protection, and all kinds of other things. All of these features are offered for free. And there's no advertisement. Plus, it doesn't have any superfluous booster functions that actually don't work. We don't randomly recommend antivirus apps to anybody, but if you're bent on having one, try this one first.
As another free antivirus app, TrustGo features some basic functions like app scanning, device scanning, and malware protection. Other useful features include a privacy adviser, an app manager, data backup, and others. It's neither super heavy nor bogged down with features. It has more features than most other free antivirus apps. It also has cleaner and booster functions, of which we recommend you to steer clear, because they don't really work.
Webroot is another simple and useful antivirus app. There are the basic features like malware protection, device scanning, and real-time device monitoring. In addition, there is a built-in call and text blocker. All of these functions are offered in the free version. Those who upgrade to the pro version get remote phone wiping, anti-theft protection, a battery and network monitor, and a SIM card lock. It doesn't seem like a very long list of features, but it appears Webroot got rid of a lot of the bloatware in favor of a fast and functional experience.
Google Play Protect is another useful antivirus app. It scans the apps on your phone and then compares them to the Google Play versions of those apps. It lets you know if the two match. Combined with the existing protection in Google Play, this creates a very good barrier of security. And it's free, which means it's probably already on your phone. Coupled with common sense and a good habit of using your phone, this is actually better than basically any other antivirus app, whatever the manufacturer is.
Above are the antivirus and anti-malware apps that are useful for HONOR View20. We hope you find them useful!
