connect honor 9 lite to honor magic pro 16

Hi there
I can connect the phone via usb but everytime I use the magic link it throws up a 404. I have an ES watch that connects to the phone perfectley via blue tooth and a honor tablet that does the same. It would be helpful if I could connect wirelessly instead of the hassle of using a usb lead. I beleive that all firmware and software is upto date and I have had both for nearly a year. It is only now that it would be helpful to get a connection. Please make it simple as I am 70 lol
