Problem

Phone/tablet charges slowly when it overheats or when the screen is on

Cause

• Honor phones and tablets have a unique overheating protection design that gradually reduces the charging current when the device temperature is high.
• During charging, the device temperature will rise to some extent, especially when the phone or tablet screen is on. At this time, running power-intensive apps and background processes may cause a significant increase in device temperature, resulting in slower charging. Due to high ambient temperature, heat dissipation can be a problem in summer, you may find the charging speed of your phone slower.
• If you have enabled the smart/high screen refresh rate setting, it provides a better visual experience when playing games or watching videos. However, this significantly increases power consumption, which offsets part of the charging current from the charger, resulting in slower charging speed.

Solution

1. It is recommended to charge your phone or tablet at room temperature.
2. Temporarily close background apps and turn off the screen while charging, and try to avoid using the device while charging.
3. It is recommended that you set the screen refresh rate to standard. Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Screen refresh rate, and select Standard mode.
   

   If there is no Screen refresh rate option in the interface, it means this feature is not supported. Please refer to the actual situation.
