HONOR VIEW10  IMPRESSIONS after 1.5 month of usage.

Launched in December 2017 in Spain for 499 EUR, this is one of the finest craftsmanship from honor, honor's trumpcard to the highly demanding midrange flagship segment. Launched as the successor to the last year's Honor 8 Pro, which itself proves to be one of the best in class smartphone.

DESIGN
When most of the smartphone companies are moving from front fingerprint sensors to the rear mounted one in favour for the full view display, honor seems to do it in the other way, incorporating both the full view display and a fingerprint sensor to the front.And I personally likes this approach very much, as you don't have to raise the phone everytime to unlock when its on a table. Even though the brushed material is good, but its highly magnetic to smudges and dirt, and it cannot be wiped easily as that in the case of Honor 8 pro, so using a case is highly recommended. Its nice honor has placed a screen protector already, so we don't have to spend it for again.

DISPLAY
5.99 Inch full view IPS LCD panel with minimum bezels at both left and right sides provides that immersive experience. Even though it uses a Full hd+ screen with 403 pixel density, the viewing angles, colour saturations, brightness are in par with some of the best amoled panels in this price range. And the low resolution than its predecessor justifies with the battery efficiency.

HARDWARE
The in-house chip set Kirin 970 is the present most powerful chip under the Kirin badge. With its dedicated Neural Processing Unit, it ensures the AI capabilities of this phone even though much features are not yet released, but in a way it provides us the future proof and even the newly launched Huawei P20 Pro with AIS technology uses the same chip, thus assuring Honor/Huawei is really into AI developments and with this Honor View 10 we will also be benefited from it.
Bundled with 6gb of ram and 128gb internal storage, the performance is top notch, no hiccups and lags ever. Intense tasks just blazes through it.

CONNECTIVITY
Dual sim with dual 4g lte(one of the first in India). The phone has a hybrid fual sim **, so you have to compromise on either sd card or one of the sim(as most case you don't have to worry about storage as 128gb is ample). Other features include NFC, Wi-Fi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX HD, Infrared

CAMERA
One word, best in class !!.. The highly anticipated huawei intelligent scene recognition identifies vafious scenes we are shooting and ajust the mode according to it. To extract the full potential of the camera we have to know which mode best suites the scene. The combination of 16MP RGB sensor and 20MP Monochrome sensor provides the best output, not only in good lighting condition but also in low lights. The black&white photos are mind blowing. There are a wide range of modes for you have to play with that you cannot see in any other brand phones. The front 13MP is definitely a step up from the honor 8 pro and provide best shots and even portraits. Even though the lack of stabilisation adversely effects the video quality, honor can fix it with just a software update.

SOFTWARE
This is subjective, but in my case I highly recommend the OEM skin over the stock android experience, as it provides us the way to customize and some nifty features that we should rely on 3rd party apps if we are in stock OS. EMUI of honor is highly stable and is well known for it powerful ram management and power efficiency optimisation. Even though the speed of updates provided is a bit low when compared to stock OS but its justifiable with its nifty features like knuckle gestures, shortcuts etc..

BATTERY & USAGE
With its small size honor has managed to put a huge 3750 mah battery, thus ensuring a highly battery backup with almost 9hours+ screen on time in my moderate usages. It has fast charging support, but due to some bugs in software many users are complaining about long charging times, hope it will also be fixed in the next update.
Long hours of Gaming and media consumption doesn't bring any heating problems as that in the case of honor 8 pro.
