Perform the following to troubleshoot:
1. Check whether you previewed or took the photo in low-light conditions
- In low-light conditions, the frame rate decreases, which causes the viewfinder to lag. To avoid this issue, move to a location with better lighting conditions or set Flash to Always on.
- In low-light conditions, your phone needs to sharpen the image quality, which takes some time and requires you to steady your phone. This process may appear as if the camera is lagging. To shorten this process, turn on Flash, and manually focus by touching the viewfinder.
2. Confirm that your phone's battery is sufficient
Ensure that your phone is at least 20% charged, as its performance is affected when the battery level is low. Charge your phone in a timely manner.
3. Check whether a third-party camera app has been installed
Uninstall third-party camera apps, which may clash with the preinstalled Camera app and cause lagging.
4. Clean up your phone's internal storage
If many apps are running in the background, the CPU usage might be high, resulting in a slow response. To clear the background apps, open the recent tasks screen, then touch 
.
5. Free up storage space on your phone
Too much data cached in the system will result in a poor phone performance. Free up the storage space and try again.
- Go to and perform a cleanup as prompted.
- Restart your phone.
6. Clear camera data
Open Settings, search for and access Apps, locate Camera, then go to .
Deleting the camera data will not delete photos in Gallery, but will restore the camera to its default settings.
7. Restore your phone to its factory settings or update the system version
Back up your data and restore your phone to its factory settings, or update your phone to the latest system version and try again.
8. If the issue persists
Back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Honor Customer Service Center for assistance.
