Over the past 6 months I really tried to focus on the actual effectiveness of blue-light filters and If they made any impact at all. I found myself becoming constantly exhausted after being on my phone for large periods of my time, which is what spurned my interest in Blue-light filters. Personally it made a huge difference when I began to apply Blue-light filters through various display settings on my smartphone towards my energy levels and quality of sleep. For millions of years, our only source of Light was Sunlight. Sun not only illuminated our world but also provide the necessary energy to plants for their growth. A proportion of Sunlight which is known as High Energy Visible Blue Light is beneficial for us. As it helps to reduce a untitleddailyuntitleddaily substance in our body known as Melatonin, which in turn wakes us up in the morning and at night when the Sunlight is not present the number of Melatonin increases and helps us sleep well.
However, nowadays we have so many artificial Blue Light emission sources, especially smartphones, tablets, and Television. This in turn has the following effects on our health:
1. Disrupted sleep cycle
2. Damage to retina cells especially in children and teenagers
3. Macular degeneration
There are different ways to reduce the health risks from using Smartphones, tablets, and television screens. One of the simplest solutions is to limit your daily screen time usage and try to avoid using your Smartphone or any other gadget with a display. This, however, is difficult for us in the modern age, and therefore a German company named TÜV Rheinland published guidelines to measure and evaluate the claims of companies that particularly deal with the blue light issue. The company came up with a standard that provides customers with a Retina Protection Factor or RFP, which is an easy-to-understand filtration of high-energy visible blue light that is emitted by a digital display.

HONOR has partnered with TÜV to makes sure that its devices filter out blue light as much as possible and to certify all of its recently launched Smartphones and other devices with digital display.
HONOR 8X was the world‘s first Smartphone to acquire TÜV Rheinland Low-Blue Light certification.
To make sure that you are blocking the Blue Light from your HONOR Smartphone.
Open "Settings" -> Go to "Display and Brightness" -> Select "Eye Comfort"

You can control the intensity of Blue Light Filteration and can automatically schedule Blue Light Filteration (Eye Comfort mode) based on your sleeping routine.

The TÜV certification means that the company will try to minimize the visible Blue Light-emitting from your display. This means that HONOR devices are safe to use and have less impact on your health in comparison to other brands, which don’t offer any effective Blue-Light filtration mechanism in place.
So, guys always remember, when you are out for buying a new Smartphone, Tablet or PC, always try to buy a device that is certified by TÜV
