Hey Fans,
What if you can't receive an SMS when you use your phone?
Well, today I would like to share with all of you some solutions to solve these problems.
First, to make sure this is not a SIM card problem, I would recommend you to insert your SIM card into a different phone and try to send or receive an SMS message. This will help to confirm that the SIM card itself does not have a problem related to authentication, an overdue balance, disabled SMS messaging by your carrier, incorrect SMS center settings, poor signal, or network issues.
If SMS messages cannot be sent or received on the other phone, contact your carrier to resolve the issue.
If the issue persists, use the following scenarios to continue troubleshooting:
Scenario 1: SMS messages cannot be sent.
If you are using a dual-SIM phone and only SIM card 2 is unable to send or receive SMS messages, it may be because SIM card 1 has VoLTE enabled, resulting in a network conflict with SIM card 2. In this case, it is recommended that you disable VoLTE on SIM card 1 and try again.
If you are having problems sending a specific message, but have previously been able to send SMS messages successfully, the SMS message database status may be incorrect for that message. In this case, delete the SMS message, retype it, and send it again.
If a sending failure prompt appears immediately after you send an SMS message, touch and hold the message. Select More > View details to contact the carrier and report the error code.
Scenario 2: SMS messages cannot be received.
If SMS messages sent from iPhones only cannot be received, this may be because your phone number was previously bound to an iPhone. The other party may be sending you an iMessage instead of an SMS message. In this case, unbind your phone number from the iPhone by referring to the instructions on Apple's official website.
If SMS verification codes cannot be received, there may be network or server communication delays. In this case, try sending the code after the countdown stops. Alternatively, contact the platform that provides the service to resend the verification code.
Scenario 3: An SMS message is successfully sent, but the other party cannot receive it.
1. The SMS message contains sensitive words.
Check whether the other party can receive your SMS messages if you change the content to common words such as "Hello" or "Thank you". If yes, avoid including sensitive words in your SMS messages.
2. You are sending an Enhanced Messaging Service (EMS) message.
If your outgoing message box is blue, the message is an EMS message.
Check whether the other party's phone supports Enhanced Messaging Services: If not, send a normal SMS message instead.
If none of the previous steps resolved the issue, back up your data, restore your phone to its factory settings, and try sending an SMS message again.
I hope this was very helpful. Don’t forget to keep following and if you have any other questions, feel free to leave a message in the comment section below.
Cheers!!
