Hello Guys,
This guided walk-through provides steps to fix common issues that you might be experiencing after EMUI 9.1 Upgrade, such as high power consumption, heating issues, application crashing etc. We recommend that you try using the solutions given below to fix problems after upgrade:
1. Applications Crashing Issues
Cause: During a cross-EMUI version (Android version) update, some apps do not adapt to the new Android version, resulting in incompatibility issues.
For example, an app stops working correctly after the phone is updated from Oreo to Pie.
Solution:
If an App Permissions Controls appear after a cross-Android version update, check whether the app is compatible with the new Android version. If the app is not compatible with the new Android version, the app cannot run properly. If an app is downloaded from AppGallery or Google Play Store, the app store will describe whether the app has compatibility concerns. For apps downloaded from other channels, check whether the apps can run on other phones running the same Android version.
If the apps cannot run on other phones, wait for app updates that will resolve the issue. Check the Android version of the phone system. If the app can run on other phones running the same Android version, the app data may have become corrupted on your phone. Uninstall the app and re-install it. Re-installing an app will clear all app data and should resolve the issue.
2. Battery Performance Issues.
Problem: The battery standby time was normal before the system update. However, the power consumption has increased significantly after an update and the standby time has been reduced. Cause And Solution Your phone undergoes a series of optimization in the background upon system update, which increases power consumption.
For example, some apps need to be readapted and optimized in the background. Your Gallery reorganizes and the files are scanned again to detect security risks. The optimization needs to be performed in the background when the phone is idle. Generally, the process will be completed within five hours if the phone is fully charged and kept idle, or within three days under normal usage.
The time to complete the update may be longer if the phone is used frequently during this period. After the process is complete, the standby time will be normal again.
3. Heating Issues After Update
Cause And Solution:During the process of updating, including downloading the update package from the network and initiating the update, your phone is in a high-load state. The size of the update package is different each time. To improve the updating speed, the update occupies more CPU resources. In this case, your phone generates more heat. After the update, turn off the screen for a period of time. The temperature of your phone will gradually become normal.
All Huawei devices have undergone strict tests before shipping to ensure safe use. It is normal for your phone to heat up during updates and this does not indicate an issue. After your phone system is updated, the system automatically updates your apps to match the current version. As a result, your phone heats up.
The software optimization measures vary by version, and so the heating level also varies accordingly. Suggestion: During updates, place your phone in an open area. Avoid placing it on quilts or blankets that do not allow heat dissipation. To reduce heat, avoid updating the system when charging your phone.
4.Fortnite Game not compatible with the device Problem
You are not able to play Fortnite game or you get a “Device not supported” error when trying to play a game. Solution For Fornite game, the following specifications must be met:
OS: Recommended Android 8.0 or higher, 64 bit

5. Unable to Hide Apps
Cause: Using pinch gestures to hide app icons on the home screen has been removed since EMUI 5.0 in order to avoid being unable to find apps.
Solution:
To protect apps from being viewed by others, use App lock, Users, or Private Space.
6: Network Speed Icon Not Visible on Status Bar
Solution:In EMUI 9.1, icons are displayed on the basis of the priority of icons and space availability in Status Bar. If you are using two VoLTE enabled SIM Cards while the device is connected to WiFi, the network icons will occupy the space and hence network speed icon will not appear.
7. Messages are not displayed in WhatsApp Notifications
Solution:EMUI 9.1 brings a ton of new features, performance enhancements along with security upgrades. As an additional security measure in EMUI 9.1, your WhatsApp texts are not displayed on the notification screen when you have locked your WhatsApp application using APP lock. To maintain the privacy of your chats from others, messages will remain hidden in the notifications from WhatsApp when App lock is enabled.
8. Unable to open/scroll down the notification panel through Fingerprint Sensor

Solution:Some of the settings receive customizations and get changed after upgrading your device due to enhanced security reasons.
