[Tips and Tricks] Troubleshooting Guide for Face Unlock Failure

Hey guys,
Face unlock is a very convenient way to unlock our phones. But sometimes we may encounter problems with face unlock failure. How to deal with the problem? Here are some troubleshooting tips.
1. The screen is not turned on: Face unlock does not work when the screen is off. You need to wake up the screen before using Face unlock.
It is recommended to enable Wake device. Open Settings, go to Smart assistance > Motion control > Pick up, and enable Wake device. Enable this feature, you can wake up the screen by picking up your phone.
Press the Power button to turn on the screen.
2. The front camera is faulty: Enter the lock screen password to unlock your phone. And then Open Camera, switch to the front camera, use the front camera to take photos. If you can take photos successfully, use the following method for troubleshooting. If the front camera cannot be used, back up your data and take your phone and the proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
3. The camera is dirty and blocked: Make sure that the front camera is clean and not blocked by foreign objects, and then try again.
4. The environment is too dim: Avoid using Face unlock in the dim environment, which may prevent the Face unlock feature from working properly.
5. The distance between your face and the phone is too close or too far: Adjust the distance between your face and the phone to 20 cm to 50 cm.
6. The angle between your face and your phone is incorrect: If the angle between your face and your phone is incorrect, the facial image capture will be incomplete and the success rate of Face unlock may be decreased. It is recommended to point the phone screen directly at your face.
7. Eyes closed when unlocking the phone: To ensure security, Face unlock does not work when your eyes are closed. Keep your eyes open when using Face unlock.
8. The quality of the enrolled face image is poor: If the Face unlock often fails and is not for the above reasons, you can open Settings, go to Security & privacy > Face recognition > Delete facial data, and enroll your face again in a well-lit (not under direct light) environment. When enrolling your face, keep the camera lens clean and your face uncovered.
