Today I will like to talk about this amazing chipset the KIRIN 810. On July 8th, HONOR held a technical communication meeting in which they announced that the new smartphone HONOR 9X would be integrated with the Kirin 810 Chipset.
Talking about the past generation, the HONOR 8X has had amazing sales results. Since its launch, the company has managed to sell over 15 million units worldwide. So, it’s logical the HONOR 9X is based on this handset.
The Kirin 810 fully meets the requirements out in front of the flagship smartphones. HONOR thinks with the help of this chip, they will have great sales in 2019.
Compared to the previous generation HONOR 8X’s 12nm process, The HONOR 9X uses the Kirin 810, which increased the transistor density by 110%. Also, the energy efficiency ratio increased by 50%. The SoC uses two flagship-class custom A76 big cores and six energy-efficient small cores. This allows the chip to provide flexible scheduling and efficient use of system resources.

GPU: Mali-G52 MP6
Kirin 810 us the first mid-range process that comes with dedicated NPU that is based on Da Vincis Architecture.
Da Vinci Architecture has full coverage from low-energy consumption scenarios to high computing power scenarios. This allows AI application deployment, migration, and collaboration in different scenarios at the same time, which vastly improves software development efficiency, and accelerates AI application in various industries.
NM Architecture: 7NM it’s a huge upgrade over its previous ones.
It consumes 20% less power consumption and 50% more transistor density compared to 8NM Processor.
Cores: Arm Cortex Octa-core Processor
2x A76 Cores @ 2.2GHz
6x A55 Cores @ 1.88GHz

Benchmark Scores between Kirin 710 & 810
According to the internal testing using AI benchmark developed by Andrey Ignatov, we can see right away that the Kirin 810 is much better than even flagship processor SD 855 within the context of AI performance.
