Mate 40 Series Lens Design
Let’s start with the back of Huawei Mate 40 series, the camera shape of Mate 40 series is a circle with a multi-lens (It is called Star Ring Design by Huawei). In view of product development these years, the photography performance has almost become the biggest sale point of all smartphone products. In order to improve the photography performance and develop more features, the number of lenses should constantly increase. Thereby, it caused a new issue to place the multiple lenses.

Facing this issue, the Star Ring Design realize accommodating multiple lenses. Therefore, Mate 40 accommodated four lenses in the star ring outline, as well Mate 40 Pro accommodate five lenses. However, the exterior of both smartphones are similar to each other.

The lenses specs of Huawei Mate 40 Series are different of each other according to model upgrade. Mate 40 as a basic standard, is equipped with 50 million Pixel Main lens, 1/2.8-inch sensor, and laser focusing device.

As for the other two models (Huawei Mate 40 Pro & Huawei Mate 40 Pro+), they all have the higher specs over Mate 40. Instead of Ultra-Wide-Angle Lens and Telephoto lens that Mate 40 is equipped with, Mate 40 Pro is equipped with * Camera, and Periscope 10x Telephoto Lens.

Speaking of Mate 40 Pro+ the supper high-specs standard, it is equipped 3x optical zoom Telephoto Lens, and Curved Lens. And thanks to the curved lens, the possibility of camera distortion has been solve. Other than that, Mate 40 Pro+ supports 100x digital zoom.

According to Huawei said, the tester took many photos by Mate 40 with 50MP AI ultra-clear mode, and the result is that Mate 40 is very suitable for shooting landscape, buildings, and ect, in the excellent lighting conditions. And also, the actual imaging results are indeed the same, and the photos still have high clarity after zooming 50%.

Other than that, Mate 40 also has nice performance in an environment with contrast penetration between brightness and darkness, which means that Mate 40 is able to keep the photo looks nature whatever the light is.

Video Camera Testing
Not only Mate 40 Series perform well at snapshots, they are also the perfect video camera. According to the global conference report, the Mate 40 series supports XD Fusion hardware real-time HDR video. As well, Mate 40 has a supper quad-core ISP which can present users with the vivid video, whether the intensities of light is brighter or darker.
