Huawei Mate 40 Series: Kirin 9000 Chipset 5G 5nm Chip
All of the Huawei Mate 40 Series are equipped with the Kirin 9000 Chipset. That would be the one of the sale point for Huawei Mate 40 Series. Compared with A14 and Snapdragon 865, the performance of Kirin 9000 has advantage over the both chipsets. According to Huawei report, Huawei Mate 40 Series can smoothly run within 36 months without lagging.
Since Google Company stopped Huawei using Google Mobile Service, not only Huawei works on developing their own Mobile Service called Huawei Mobile Service, and also Huawei continuously improve the hardware for the electronic devices, to cover this shortage.
So, how dose Huawei Mate 40 Series perform with Kirin 9000 Chipset? It is exactly what the content of this article will cover. Don’t forget to subscribe my account and like this post, if it’s helpful for you. Thank you!

Kirin 9000 Chipset Performance
Kirin 9000 is the 5G Chipset in 5nm, integrating 15.3 billion transistors which are more than the transistors of iPhone 12 Chipset - A14 by 30%.
As for Kirin 9000 running speed testing in CPU, GPU and NPU, compared with Snapdragon 865 Plus, the result is that CPU, GPU, and NPU running speed of Kirin 9000, are separately faster than Snapdragon 865 by 10%, 52%, 240%, according to CEO of the Consumer Business Group Huawei, Yu Chengdong speech at the HDC.
What are detailed specs of Kirin 9000 CUP, GPU, and NPU?
CUP: Kirin 9000 Chipset has 8-core CPU, including 3.13GHz A77 large core x1, 2.54GHz A77 mid-core x3, and 2.04GHz A55 small core x4. The main frequency of the large core is slightly higher than the 3.1GHz of the Snapdragon 865+, which is considered currently the highest frequency processor of smartphone.
GPU: Kirin 9000 Chipset integrates 24-core Mali-G78 GPU, the architecture is more than Kirin 990 Mali-G76, the number of cores is also increased by half, and the performance is increased by 60%.
NPU: As for the NPU of Kirin 9000 Chipset, it includes large- core x2 and tiny core x1.
