Huawei Mate 40, the last Huawei smartphone powered by chipset owned from Huawei, is predicted to be launched in October 2020. As another HMS phone from Huawei, here is everything we heard about the Huawei Mate 40 currently.
Huawei Mate 40 will be launched in October or November 2020
It was expected that Huawei Mate 40 would be launched at the HDC 2020, but that didn’t happen. Its predecessors Huawei mate 30 series was launched in September 2019, while Huawei mate 20 in October 2018, and Huawei Mate 10 in November 2017.
At the HDC, CEO of the Consumer Business Group Huawei, Yu Chengdong, said that everything will come as scheduled when he was asked when the next generation Mate will be released.
Combine these together, Huawei Mate 40 will be launched no less than November 2020.

The Price of Huawei Mate 40 starts from €999
When first launched, the Huawei Mate 30 started at €799, the Huawei Mate 30 at €1099, and the Huawei mate 30 pro 5G at €1199.
It’s expected that the Huawei Mate 40 starts from €999 according to rumors. Another truth that cannot be denied is the limited amount of the Kirin Chipsets. In China, it’s heard that a few Huawei smartphone enthusiasts have pre-ordered Huawei Mate 40. Also, the price may be higher than expected as it’s believed that Huawei Mate 40 is also a commemorative model since it will be the last one powered by Huawei Kirin Chipset.
The Huawei Mate 40 supports 40W super-fast charging
The former Huawei P40 pro plus supports 40W super-fast charging, 40W wireless fast charging, and 27W reverse charging, while Huawei P40 Pro supports 40W super-fast charging, 27W wireless fast charging, and 27W reverse charging.
The former Mate series Huawei Mate 30 Pro supports 40W super-fast charging, 27W wireless fast charging, and 27W reverse charging.
According to the above, without any doubt, the Huawei Mate 40 will support 40W fast charging at least and probably 40W wireless fast charging, if not at least 27W wireless fast charging.

The Huawei Mate 40 features 5 cameras at least
The Huawei Mate 40 features 5 cameras at least, including triple rear cameras and dual front cameras. The rear camera layout of the Huawei Mate 40 is similar to that of the former Mate series the Huawei Mate 30.
The front camera is different. The Huawei Mate 30 features a notch display at the top middle part of the screen, while the Huawei Mate 40 is revealed to come with an oval shape camera design on the top left corner of the screen.

The traditional volume button is supported by the Huawei Mate 40
Unlike the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, with the only the power button, the Huawei Mate 40 according to a few leak photos, has the power button and volume button on the right side of the frame, even though it also features a curved display like the Huawei Mate 30 pro.
The Huawei Mate 40 is powered by Kirin 9000 chipset
It’s revealed by a few media as early as August 2020 already that the Huawei Mate 40 is powered by 5nm Kirin 9000 chipset, which is probably the last chipset from Huawei. We don’t know anything about after the latest Kirin 990 5G chipset, it is not named something like the expected Kirin 1000 or 1010, but Kirin 9000 directly or if there is something special about this chipset currently.
Summary and other news about the Huawei Mate 40:
The Huawei mate 40 will feature a curved display like the Huawei Mate 30, but with the physical button power and volume button instead. It comes without a 3.5mm headphone jack, but a Type C USB port and speaker on the bottom right side of the frame.
Users can expect an in-display fingerprint sensor since the Huawei Mate 40 is said to feature an OLED display. And other than this, the IP rating is at least IP68 since the former Huawei mate 30 pros and Huawei P40 Pro are all IP68.
As to the battery, rumors are the Huawei Mate 40 is powered by a 5000mAh big battery, which is largely improved from the 4200mAh battery of the Huawei P40 Pro and the 4500mAh battery of the Huawei Mate 30.
Last but not the least, the Huawei Mate 40, of course, is also another HMS phone, same as the former Huawei P40 series, Huawei Mate 30 series, and HONOR 9A, HONOR 9X pro.
