What do we have in our hands?

In the box is of course the router 3, there is also a power cable and an ethernet cable.
And a few papers.
What is striking is the nice flat design of the router.
It is the same height as a glasses case.
This is of course with the 4 antennas folded down.
The hinges of the antennas look solid and good.

What is striking is that there is no hanging option to hang the router.
But it does not matter because it does not look bad (I think).
In the living room it does not look out of place and there is always a place in the meter cupboard, right?

Connecting and installing

At the back is the power supply connection, and 4 ethernet ports.

The ethernet ports are numbered from WLAN 1 to 4 and there is a reset button.

Connecting is very simple and easy.
Connect the supplied ethernet cable to the router and to the current modem and plug it in!

The easiest way is to connect an ethernet cable to the router and connect it to a computer or laptop.
By entering 192.168.3.1 in your browser you will arrive at the settings page of the router.

We also tried to connect and set up the modem via wifi. but that did not go completely smoothly. The WiFi quickly switches back to the old known WiFi network so that setting up was not going well, which of course was prevented by turning off that WiFi network !!

Via the AI Life app , which we also used with the HONOR Magic Earbuds, you can set a lot of the router via a mobile.

But we will continue with the explanation via the browser in this article. ( 192.168.3.1 )
After going through the installation menu, the router is set up and you can use the internet via the router!

A few more points to highlight.

My laptop did not see the router wifi.
This was because my laptop is not the very latest.
I had to turn on the Backup wifi5 setting !

The Router 3 has a long range .
As you may have noticed, the 5GHZ WiFi Bandwidth can reach 160 Mhz

Furthermore, the HONOR router 3 has the latest protections.
He has the  WPA 3

Unfortunately we could not test WiFi 6 because there are currently no WiFi 6 devices in the area.

The WiFi connection

Of course we have done several tests and are not at all dissatisfied!
We have a faster internet speed than the “old” wifi.
Not much but still! And we are not alone in other reviews about the Router 3.
In terms of stability of the WiFi, which is important for the gamers among us, what we can see passed the test well.
