HONOR Band 6 VS HONOR Watch ES

Though looks quite alike, HONOR Band 6 and HONOR Watch ES have a few differences. This HONOR Band 6 * HONOR Watch ES is aimed at unveiling the difference while mentioning what’s the same, so you can decide which works better for you.

Background:

Around two months later after HONOR released HONOR Watch ES in September 2020, another wearable device was launched in China, the HONOR Band 6. You may ask that one is a watch and the other is a band, why there is a comparison between the two? Well, take a look at the below picture, HONOR Band 6 on the right and HONOR Watch ES on the left. Yes, you get it right, the two look quite alike.

1. HONOR Band 6 * HONOR Watch ES, appearance

Even from the above image, it’s clear that the screen of HONOR Watch ES is bigger than the HONOR Band 6. According to the data offered by HONOR, the HONOR Watch ES features a 1.64 inches display while HONOR Band 6 a 1.47 inches display.

And the way that the strap, though both straps could be replaced, is connected to the HONOR Band 6 and HONOR Watch ES is quite different, with the strap of HONOR Band 6 is relatively fixed. Also, the strap of HONOR Watch ES is a little bit wider than that of HONOR Band 6, to match with its bigger display.

Another difference in appearance is that, on the left side of HONOR Band 6, there is an HONOR Logo. And on the back of the HONOR Watch ES the sensors are in a circle layout, while that’s a rectangle for the HONOR Band 6.

Except for the above, both HONOR Band 6 and HONOR Watch ES come with an AMOLED touch screen, and the screens for both are in a rectangle shape. And on the right side of the device, there is a little physical button with a red dot. On the back of the device, you could find the charging port and then the sensors.

Both wearable devices come in three colors, for the HONOR Watch ES you can get Meteorite Black, Coral Pink, Icelandic White, while for the HONOR Band 6, Meteorite Black, Seagull Gray, and Coral Powder.

2. HONOR Band 6 * HONOR Watch ES, Storage and Battery

HONOR Watch ES comes with built-in storage and this means that you will not miss out on the exercise playlist even when you don’t take the phone with you.

Both HONOR Band 6 and HONOR Watch ES have a 180mAh non-removable battery, which can last for about 14 days in normal use. But since the screen of HONOR Watch ES is a little bit bigger than that of HONOR Band 6, you probably will expect a shorter standby time.

3. HONOR Band 6 * HONOR Watch ES, the difference in Features

Firstly let’s talk about health monitoring. Both HONOR Band 6 and HONOR Watch ES support 24/7 heartbeat monitoring, SpO2 measuring, sleeping tracking, stress measuring, and breath exercise. So in terms of health monitoring, HONOR Band 6 and HONOR Watch ES are the same.

Secondly, let’s compare the workout modes. HONOR Band 6 has only 10 sports modes and doesn’t have animated workout courses, while HONOR Watch ES has as many as 95 workout modes including 10 professional sports and 85 customized training modes, and 12 animated workout modes. Both devices support automatic workout detection.

Except for the above, both HONOR Band 6 and HONOR Watch ES support Female Cycle Tracking and have a water-resistant level of 5 ATM.

When talking about connectivity, both support Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, while both without built-in GPS. In China, both devices come in the NFC version and the non-NFC version with the price difference, while it’s heard that in the EU market, only the HONOR Band 6 is available in the NFC variant instead.

Except for the above, both devices support some useful features, such as music control, remote shutter, customizing watch faces, alarm, weather reports, Flashlight, Find Phone, Stopwatch, Timer, and notifications.
