Hello Guys,
I bought the Honor Band 5 because it seemed like a good fitness tracker for beginners like me. The reviews I saw were good, and it's also incredibly cheap, so I thought that if I didn't like it, at least I wouldn't have wasted much money. Having used it for a while now, I can say that it's exceeded my expectations in nearly every way, and for the first time in my life, I'm really hooked on improving my health.
I'm based in a big city, and anyone who's lived the urban lifestyle will know that it can be hard to keep on top of your health. When you get in late after a long day of work, the last things you want worry about are heart rates and REM sleep times, so they can naturally get forgotten in the rush of modern life.

What's great about the Honor Band 5 though is that accessing my data is really convenient, which makes it harder to ignore. I linked the device with my Huawei Health app, and suddenly my heart rate, exercise, steps, calories, etc. were right there on my phone, as well as my wrist, and I could see how inactive I was.
As I work full-time, my routine has always pretty much consisted of sitting down all day, whether at my desk or on the subway, and I didn't realize how little exercise I was doing. Now, when I've been inactive for too long, the Honor band will tell me to get up and move around. I've also found myself more inclined to walk or cycle rather than taking the subway, so I can up my step count and make improvements every day. I can set exercise targets, and I'll receive milestone alerts when I make progress with them, which encourages me even more.
For me, the most important feature though is sleep tracking. Before, I had no idea how well I'd slept. If I went to bed at 11 and got up at 6, I'd just assume I'd had a full 7 hours sleep, and yet I always felt tired. What the Honor Band 5 has shown me though is that actually my sleep quality during those 7 hours wasn't good at all. I'd go to bed at irregular times, and wake up a lot during the night, but I'd never identified that as a problem. Now, I can use the advice and data I get from the app to improve my sleeping habits. I'll go to sleep earlier if I need to, and I always try to go to bed at a regular time because when I do, I can actually see the results in the data, and I feel way better the next day.
Improving my sleep quality and increasing my exercise have both contributed to a healthier lifestyle. It's also had a knock-on effect on what I've been eating. I used to order takeaways all the time because I couldn't be bothered to cook after working all day. Now I'll make the extra effort to eat healthily so these other improvements don't go to waste, and I can track my calorie intake in the app too. It makes such a difference being able to see and feel the impact these lifestyle changes are having.
The Honor Band 5 isn't perfect though obviously – it's a pretty cheap device, and so if you're a fitness freak and want really in-depth data that you're willing to pay a lot more for, then go for a more upmarket watch. Also, it feels quite cheap. It's really light, and although the screen quality is surprisingly good, the watch face itself is quite small. It's useful knowing when I've got messages, but the screens so small I often end up getting out my phone to read them, which is quite annoying.

All in all though I've been amazed at how much difference a budget device has made to my life. I'm more active and feel better than I have in years. If you want to be a healthier person, but you're not looking to run a marathon or become a professional athlete, I would definitely recommend the Honor Band 5.
Have you buy already the New HONOR Band 5? Tell me in the comment below, what do you think about this device?
Thanks!
