H9L Won't Boot & eRecovery = 'Software Install Failed!' (Brand New LLD-AL10 - EMUI 8.00)

Hi Community,

Phone crashed and is bootlooping. I followed instructions (Vol Up + Power) to get into 'Recovery', which is entitled 'Huawei eRecovery' and gives only 3 options - (1) Reboot System, (2) Poweroff or (3) Wifi Restore & Recovery. So I click on Wifi R&R, it finds my Wifi no problems then just fails with "! Software install failed! Get help from http://www.emui.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore".

So I go to that URL... "404 ERROR".

So now I'm wondering if I have been ripped off and this is not a genuine product because surely Honor/EMUI would maintain a support link/URL that is presumably displayed in every one of their devices with this eRecovery?! The phone is literally brand new out of the box and there is nothing at the URL to suggest the page has moved or anything?!

I assumed that the URL would link to a downloable version of the Stock Recovery Rom/Image and I could then fastboot flash that to get my device to work again. So, URL not working, I checked the HiHonor page and Huawei.com support pages for the Stock Rom or at least a manual Stock Recovery gives their useless Wifi eRecovery does not work. Nothing... I cannot find ANY official Huawei Recovery, Update, Rollback, Boot and Stock Rom for Honor 9 Lite - no downloads at all. If it wasn't for the pretty pictures of the device all over this website and the official Huawei website, I was starting to believe the H9L doesn't actually exist and this has all been some terrible nightmare.

Can anyone tell me why eRecovery just fails and there is no manual reset option, why the URL in the firmware when eRecovery fails gives a 404 error and no help at all and why there is no download link for any recovery or stock rom for this device on the manufacturer's website, their custom O/S website (EMUI) or this website?!

Feel like I am taking crazy pills here! Please save me!
