There’re several kinds of unlocking methods commonly used on the smartphones in the current market, among them,
Fingerprint Unlock and Face Unlock are more and more popular.
Each of the unlocking methods has its own advantages, so different persons will have different choice.

In this article, I will introduce the advantages and disadvantages of these three methods.
After reading, you can share your own opinion in the comment area.
1. Fingerprint Unlock:
Fingerprint unlock is now becoming more and more common, after all, everyone’s fingerprints are different and unique.
In just a few years, the unlocking speed of the fingerprint identification chip is getting faster and faster, and the unlocking time has been shortened from the initial 1s to 0.7s, 0.4s, 0.3s or even 0.2s.
The principle of fingerprint unlocking technology relies on the uneven lines on the front skin of the finger.
Although fingerprints are only a small part of human skin, these lines are different in patterns, break points and intersections, and these features are unique and permanent.
Therefore, fingerprint unlock is very safe compared to other unlocking methods.

Fingerprint recognition has gradually evolved from the initial external fingerprint of the smartphones to the current under-screen fingerprint recognition, which makes unlocking more convenient. The only disadvantage may be that when the fingers are wet or dirty, it is very easy to cause unlocking failure.
2. Face Unlock:
With the popularity of FullView Display smartphones, face unlock is also prevalent.
At present, most of the face recognition is still immature, and seems a compensation for the impact of rear fingerprint unlock.
You don't need to do any cooperative operation during the process of face unlock, while you just need to pick up the phone to unlock it directly.

Besides, face unlock can also resist some common disturbances, such as dark light, side face, small area occlusion, etc.
But face recognition also has its shortcomings.
Some people have tried to use a photo to unlock the phone through facial recognition verification.
Twins are similar and difficult to distinguish when using face recognition.
Although the application of 3D structured light technology enhances the security of face recognition, the coverage on mobile phones is still very less.
Only some flagship phones can achieve high security, so I think it’s better to temporarily fingerprint recognition on entry-level phones!
Which of these unlocking methods do you think is the fastest and safest? What’s your choice?
