The HONOR 20 PRO features 4-axis OIS on the main camera and telephoto camera that work with the Kirin 980 AI chipset to provide real-time lens compensation to reduce subject motion. Now you can capture stunning blur-free photos and videos in low light.
Tech behind AIS Super Night Mode
1. AI Hand-held Detection
To initiate night photography, the HONOR 20 PRO’s AI function first determines if the user is taking a picture by hand.
2. Self-Correcting Photometry
After detecting that the user is taking a hand-held shot, the HONOR 20 PRO's AI must utilize photometry to create specific settings for each of the exposures that have been generated.
3. Clarity through Sheer Computing
AI photometry enables us to obtain accurate exposures for multiple images. However, some of the images will still come out blurry. Therefore, it filters them according to their sharpness and clarity, and removes blurred ones. This constitutes the first step for jitter rectification.
The Dual-NPU Kirin 980 chipset has more powerful image processing capabilities than its counterparts and can undertake the dizzying number of operations required to enable top-tier night photography.
4. Image Synthesis
Images that are considerably different from others are corrected to ensure that the final synthesized image is clear and sharp. Lastly, noise reduction is carried out.
Powered by the AIS algorithm, Super Night Mode on the main camera and 4-axis OIS allows for crisp, clear, low-light images without unwanted hand movements.
The multiple images are then synthesized through an AIS algorithm to create the final picture, not only improving the brightness and dynamic range but also ensuring less noise and clear details. AIS Super Night mode also increases the number of images and the exposure difference between the group of images, in order to perform more complex operations. The result is vivid, detailed, lifelike imagery.
