My computer keeps automatically restarting
| My computer keeps automatically restarting |
Problem:
The user finds that their computer keeps automatically restarting.
Cause:
This may happen due to a variety of causes, including poor heat dissipation capability, computer viruses, faulty external storage devices, and system incompatibility.
Solution:
Perform the following to troubleshoot:
1. Check whether your computer is overheated. Place the computer in a well-ventilated area and wait for a while before turning it on again.
2. It is recommended that you run antivirus software to do an overall check and eliminate any viruses on your computer. After the check is complete, check whether the computer still keeps automatically restarting.
3. Check if this issue occurs after connecting an external storage device. Disconnect the external storage device, such as a USB flash drive or mobile hard disk, from the computer.
4. Check whether this issue occurs after installing certain software, as some third-party software may have system compatibility issues. Start your computer in Safe Mode, then uninstall and reinstall the software or replace it with other alternative software.
5. If the issue persists, press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds to force power off your computer. If the issue persists after multiple forced shutdowns, please back up your data, then press and hold F10 during startup and restore the computer to its factory settings.
Please note that restoring the computer to its factory settings will clear all data in the C drive, including personal files downloaded in Desktop, Downloads, and Documents. Please back up your important data in the C drive.
If the issue persists, back up any important data, then bring your device and proof of purchase to an HONOR Authorized Service Center for assistance.
