Perform the following to troubleshoot the issue:
1. The flashlight switch is turned off
To use the flashlight when taking photos, open Camera and set the flashlight to Auto, On, or Always on state.
If Auto is selected, the flashlight will automatically turn on or off depending on the environmental light.
2. The battery level is too low
Confirm that your phone's battery is sufficient. When the battery level is less than 15%, your phone's flashlight automatically turns off. Charge your phone until the battery level is over 15% and try again.
3. Your phone or the flashlight is overheating
The flashlight may not turn on if your phone is overheating or the flash is used too frequently within a short period of time. Wait for a while and try again.
4. Another app is using the flashlight
Check if any code scanning apps are running in the background and occupying the flashlight. The flashlight can only be used by one app at a time. Close those apps and try again.
5. Camera doesn't support flashlight
Check whether you are using a featured shooting mode that doesn't work with the flashlight. These modes include Time-lapse and Light painting.
6. Clear camera data
Clear the camera data and try again. Open Settings, search for and touch Apps, and go to .
Clearing camera data will only delete camera settings and data generated during use. It will not delete your photos or videos.
