Phone/tablet heats up when playing games

When playing games, the CPU, GPU, memory, and other chips in your phone or tablet run at high speeds, and components like the screen and speakers work continuously for a long time, resulting in relatively high power consumption. Consequently, the temperature of the phone or tablet will rise. Compared to scenarios like making calls or chatting online, gaming generates more heat. You can prevent overheating by following these methods:

Try to avoid playing games while charging

Charging causes the phone or tablet to heat up, and playing games while charging will make the device get even hotter.

Play games in an environment with a suitable temperature

When the temperature is high, such as outdoors in summer, the heat generated by the phone or tablet cannot dissipate effectively, making the device become noticeably hotter.

The following actions can help prevent overheating to some extent but may affect your gaming experience. Please choose what works best for you

Lower the screen brightness appropriately: It is recommended to disable Automatic by going to Settings > Display & brightness, and manually lower the screen brightness, which can effectively reduce power consumption and prevent overheating.
Lower the media volume or use earphones: Press the volume down button to lower the speaker volume, which reduces speaker power consumption. Alternatively, using earphones can effectively prevent overheating.
Reduce game effects and resolution in game settings, and disable some enhancement features in Game Manager: Increasing game effects and higher resolution lead to higher power consumption. Properly reducing them can help prevent overheating.
Take out the phone case, use a clip on fan.
If GPS or Bluetooth is not needed while playing games, they can be turned off.

Try to restart your phone or tablet

If you are playing games at a normal room temperature (around 25°C) without charging and still experience abnormal heating, please restart your device and try again. If severe heating persists, please back up your important data in advance and take your purchase proof to an Honor Authorized Service Center for inspection.
