HONOR computers have passed strict tests to ensure that they meet the required temperature safety standards, including the Chinese national standard (GB 4943.1) and the EU standard (EN 60950-1). There are multiple temperature sensors embedded in your computer to monitor the temperature and ensure that it stays within the safe range.
- Improve the working environment of your computer and ventilation conditions
- The optimal working environment temperature range for the computer is between 0℃ and 35℃. Avoid using the computer in an excessively hot environments.
- Place the computer on a solid, horizontal surface. Try to make sure there isn't anything too close to the base, like clothes, or books. Do not place your computer on a soft surface (such as quilt).
- Regularly clean any dust that may have accumulated on around air vents to avoid overheating. Regularly clean the vents to prevent the build up of dust.
- Close background apps
The heat generated by your computer is proportional to the number of programs running. Running too many programs and tasks in the background will increase the amount of heat generated by the CPU and put a heavier load on the cooling system to dissipate heat while taking up a lot of memory, therefore, the system will use more CPU resources to reallocate and compress the memory. Further escalating the problem. Clear apps from the background if you don't need them anymore.
To do this, perform the following:
- Press the Ctrl, Alt, and Del keys at the same time to open the Task Manager.
- Click View and then Group by type, click programs with high CPU or space consumption. Click End task.
- Update BIOS firmware
HONOR will regularly provide updated for BIOS firmware to optimize the computer's performance and improve its heat dissipation capabilities. For details on how to update BIOS firmware on your computer, visit the official HONOR website.
- Update PC Manager
HONOR will regularly provide updates for PC Manager. Update PC Manager on your computer to the latest version to optimize the computer's performance and improve its heat dissipation capabilities.
Your computer should not produce a burning smell during normal use. If you notice a burning smell, check whether the smell is coming from the external ports on the computer, such as the USB port, headphone, jack, or microphone. If this is the case, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized HONOR Customer Service Center for assistance.
