Writing with Stylus Pen

The stylus pen for your tablet works just like your finger, but far more accurate and flexible, offering a real writing experience. It also supports Quick Note, Global Handwriting, and other specialized applications to make writing more enjoyable.

Charge Your Stylus

When using the stylus for the first time, please pair it with your tablet:

Place the flat edge of the stylus on your tablet’s top so that it clips on. The exact attach position may vary, you may grabble to find it out.

The battery of your stylus will enter protection mode after being idle for a long time. Please charge it for 5–10 minutes before using.

Quick Notes with Stylus Pen

While the screen is off, tap on it twice with your stylus pen to open Notes. You can start a new note or renew the last one at any time to follow your inspirations and creative ideas. Various colors are available for your stylus pen. Erase, rotate, or zoom the text with tools.

Enable Quick Note: Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Stylus > Instant Write and make sure Instant Write is turned on.
Quick Note Settings: In Instant Write, you can set your preference for Quick Note and the time limit for note renewal after screen off:
- Tap Continue writing your note to save the note or continue writing.
- Tap Time limit to reset the time limit for renewal.

Take Color across Apps by Using a Stylus

When you use a stylus to draw in a note, you can easily take colors from other apps.

Cross-app color taking: Swipe inward from the right or left edge of the screen and pause to enable Multi-Window, tap it to enter floating window, or drag it to split-screen mode.

Cross-device color taking: Swipe down from the top right of the status bar to enable Control Center, tap Multi-Screen Collaboration, and connect your tablet and phone by following the instructions, and then you can use Multi-Screen Collaboration to take colors from your phone.

After that, on the note editing page, tap Handwrite to open Handwriting Kit. Choose > to tap or drag the target position to take colors.

Not all HONOR devices support this feature. Please refer to the actual situation.

Edit Floating Menu

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Stylus and make sure Floating menu is selected.
Tap Edit floating menu, choose the functions that you need in Stylus, and add them to Floating menu.

Use Global Lasso with Stylus

You can circle the content you need on any screen of your tablet. Handwritten content can be converted to editable text within one tap. Pictures can be dragged or pasted across apps or be saved as images.

Tap > Settings > Edit floating menu and add Global Lasso to Floating menu.
Circle text: Tap > Global Lasso , circle the text, and select Text. Tap COPY, and paste the recognizable text into the text box.

Circle picture: Circle the people, animals, or other object in the picture, and then you can single it out to copy it or save it as an image.

Save and cross-app dragging: Circle the content, select Save, and you can save the content into images. In the multi-window mode, touch and hold the circled area and drag it to insert the image of the content to apps such as HONOR Docs and Notes.
Afterward, tap to exit Global Lasso.
